Gobala's exit cash greased, says PKR

Gerard Samuel Vijayan: Before GE13, I suggest that all Pakatan Rakyat candidates make a public declaration of their assets and liabilities before they are given seats by their respective party leaders. The declaration should start from the top party leaders.

And after the general election, a public external audit must be conducted on all Pakatan-elected representatives every two years especially on those in public office. The current system of internal disclosure is neither transparent nor acceptable given that Pakatan has espoused principles of good governance, accountability, integrity and openness.

The declaration should include children and their spouses. Why shouldn't the public know how much each Pakatan candidate is worth? A life of moderation, selfless public service, integrity and dedication to duty are the hallmarks of a good public servant.

Pakatan should emulate the post-Independence Congress leaders in India who personified these values at least until the 1960s like Gandhi, Nehru, Patel, Rajaji, Azad, Prasad, Amrit Kaur, etc.

Naaah!: Padang Serai parliamentarian N Gobalakrishnan must show the Sale & Purchase Agreement (SPA) for selling the land to the "interested developer". No "interested developer" will pay RM140 million to the landowner without signing any formal SPA except that they are BN/Umno-driven company.

He said the RM250 million was for selling part of the land. Which part? Was it worth that much or not? Gobala owes the people, and particularly the Padang Serai voters, a thorough explanation on this allegation against him.

PKR secretary-general Saifudin Nasution's allegation was backed up with cheques as evidence. Gobala's allegation against Anwar was made in the Parliament without any evidence (with just his big mouth).

If Anwar and three others were barred from Parliament for six months due to their linking of 1Malaysia slogan with Apco-Israel, why is it that Gobala is not suspended?

ONG: Gobalakrishnan accused Anwar of improprieties whilst serving as finance minister and of having wild delusions of becoming prime minister at all costs. Tell us something we don't already know.

Zar: Why not the Inland Revenue Board (Income Tax Department) investigate how and where he got the money from?

It proves again Umno's survival depends entirely on money. If the source of money stopped, they will die. Hence the massive corruption that is needed to sustain their hold on power.

It is a great time for ‘frogs' though - like mating season.

Ponto: Gobalakrishnan fails to appreciate the fact that the PKR party which provided him the platform and opportunity 'to have what he had not, and be what he was not' stands betrayed by him with his much-despised switching of camps that will clearly be likened to the proverbial saying - 'to bite the hand that feeds you.'

Regrettably, this lowly political mercenary has unwittingly upped the ante by pouring scorn and incessantly demonising the leadership of PKR, particularly Anwar - a despicable act cunningly conceived to benefit the trust and favours of his new BN masters.

Undeniably, from the evidence garnered, there is clear justification to establish the fact that this opportunistic Gobala has indeed been bought over by BN. As such, the general public should be wary of the fact and be awakened to the reality that such a character is treacherous and bankrupt of any principles and is unworthy of the public trust.

Compass: Gobala's rebutal is totally unconvincing. Which developer would pay RM1.4 million upfront to the landowner before he develops the land? Unless it's the crooked bridge project.

Lee Yueh Choo: PKR leaders, please have self-reflection on why so many PKR members are fed up with the party. There is no political will to fix the damages done by the selfish and wicked leaders to maintain their power and positions.

In western countries, leaders like Anwar Ibrahim will resign for picking the wrong subordinates, but he is a life-time self-appointed ‘Ketua Umum', always blaming others, even those who quit PKR. Is this a democratic party that has political will to improve the country?

Pemerhati: The reality in Malaysia is that if you are a poor and a simple voter in a rural area, Umno will buy your vote and win you over cheaply with a few hundred ringgit worth of food and other necessities.

If you are a bit smarter and have some influence and are financially not very sound, then they will get you on their side by giving you just sufficient money to get you over your financial difficulties, as they seem to have done with this PKR guy and one DAP guy in Perak.

But if your vote is critical to taking over a state government, then Umno will make you an offer which you will find hard to refuse. To take over Perak, an Umno proxy and a well-known Mahathir crony is rumoured to have paid a defector RM25 million.

This is Goby's Pinocchio moment. Have you measured the length of your nose recently?

Ksn: If this story is true, PKR should make a police report for immediate action against Gobala. On the other hand, if what Gobala says is the truth, he should make a police report for slander and defamation. The public want to know the truth either way and the guilty punished.

Anonymous_3f96: Politicians who are bribed to switch political parties are a thousand times worse than prostitutes in Chow Kit. These are shameless characters who have betrayed their constituents.

They are men and women who are without principles, who are willing to sell themselves to the highest bidder. Good riddance to such human filth. These sewer rats will nimble at whatever droppings that are offered, for their greed is unfathomable.

Dark Archon: It only confirms what we've all suspected all along. All those ‘katak' jumped for a price. May both the bribe giver and bribe recipient get to meet their day of retribution for selling out all those who voted for them.
