Ex-Suhakam commissioners set up new body
Former Suhakam commissioners have set up a new society, Persatuan Promosi Hak Asasi Manusia (Proham).

Simon Sipaun (

) has been appointed Proham chairman and Prof Hamdan Adnan, deputy.
Michael Yeoh, N Siva Subramaniam and Dr Chiam Heng Keng are secretary, assistant secretary and treasurer, respectively.
Karam Chand Vohrah and Dr Denison Jayasooria are committee members.
According to a Proham statement today, the society would be officially launched on March 21.
This would be followed by a roundtable discussion on the United Nations Convention on elimination of racial discrimination, in conjunction with the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
The roundtable panel will be moderated by Yeoh, with Hamdan, Chiam and Denison as panel members.
