MP Sivarasa barred from entering Sarawak

Not Confused: This country is turning into a farce. Under the direction of the bankrupt BN government, Sarawak has turned into a police state ruled by evil despot Abdul Taib Mahmud.

In what other country would an elected politician be "deported" from within his own country? It is pathetic and Malaysia is now even more of a laughing stock in the eyes of the world.

Ayoyo: With such powers, it seems that Sarawak is an autonomous state or perhaps an independent country. Even our PM can be barred from entering this backward state.

If Sarawak, or even Sabah, is serious to continue to be part of Malaysia, then it's high time to change the outdated arrangement or agreement. Unless someone in power wants it to be like that so that Sarawakians remain isolated and ignorant.

Please lah , this is 2011 already.

Multi Racial: I find ridiculous for Malaysians travelling to Sabah and Sarawak need to go through immigration. In any case, what is the reason for Subang MP R Sivarasa to be barred from entering Sarawak? Can this government be more transparent?

Sarawakian_3ff9: Taib is already wetting his pants as the election is near. Even with his young bride sleeping by his side, he must be having nightmares at night. It's time he practice singing ‘My Way'- "And now the time is near, I face the final curtain...." - instead of the P Ramlee songs that he's so fond of.

If you ask the rural people, whether in the Peninsula or Sarawak or Sabah, I think they can all see tins of Milo, cheap biscuits and dried noodles or mee hoon more clearly than anything else.

We are destined to be a nincompoop country populated by nincompoop people.

JusticeNow!: Such childish behaviour by the Sarawak BN is unbelievable. Are they so scared and so desperate that they have to resort to barring people from entering the state. Only people who have done wrong is afraid.

Proarte: If anybody from PKR who should have been banned it should have been Anwar Ibrahim. With his bankrupt and immoral Muslim agenda, Taib knows that would not go down well with the plural Sarawakians who do not have a 'ketuanan Islam' mindset which has infected the insecure, politically and morally backward Malays from the peninsula.

Perhaps Taib sees Anwar as working for BN interests. If Anwar wants to help PKR and Pakatan Rakyat, he should let Sarawak PKR chief Baru Bian do all the talking and negotiations.

Anwar is distrusted and a liability, period. He is also a megalomaniac who feels he is 'indispensible' and does not know when his time is up.

Ketuanan Rakyat: It's not surprising that this is happening. Padang Serai MP N Gobalakrishnan, who was not allow to enter previously, will now be allowed to enter. He may even be invited to address rallies to run down PKR and Pakatan Rakyat.

Kit P: Would the Sarawak state government care to explain what offences Sivarasa has committed or is suspected of committing in the past, or what kind of threat he poses to Sarawak?

The exercise of absolute power with zero accountability sounds more like Zimbabwe or Libya.

Alan Goh: Biasa lah , YB Sivarasa. How can the Pirate of Sarawak allows a honest YB like you to enter Sarawak and further exposed his corrupted rule?

He is the modern-day White Raja. As Sarawak is also part of Malaysia, I fail to understand how a Malaysian can be barred from the state. It is like an American being told that he cannot enter Hawaii or Alaska. What a joke.

Anonymous828_h: Do not underestimate Taib's ability as the lone gunslinger. He has a fast draw, and his reputation has preceded him to the point that a radio station dedicated to bringing him down, and a blog doing the same, has not stopped this old fox.

Challenge him at your own peril as a fast draw is required.

Tony_2c31: As a Sarawakian, I am saddened by the decision to ban a politician who is performing his duty. While the state has the rights to execute such a move, it must be used rationally.

In Sarawak, the law is used to its fullest might - no discretion is allowed. Will other politicians from West Malaysia be equally given such a summary ejection on entering Sarawak? It's sad to see such a reality.

Zzzz: I dearly hope that Taib Mahmud will not stop opposition leaders and members from entering Sarawak to campaign for the impending state election. Desperate and dirty people will play desperate and dirty tricks.
