As expectations rise that the Sarawak by-election will be called shortly, Pakatan Rakyat is holding back details of seat allocation among member-parties and allies in the state.

"The divisio NONE n of seats has mostly been settled... (for) most of them," PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang told a press conference after the Pakatan Rakyat Leadership Council meeting in Parliament today.

Asked if there are overlapping seat claims, he admitted to some lingering issues: “There are some, not that many though.”

Pressed as to whether Pakatan faces problems, especially with the Sarawak National Party (Snap), PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim stepped in to clarify the matter.

"Like (Abdul Hadi) said, most issues have resolved. The three party leaders have discussed it with the Sarawak party leaders," he said.

azlan PAS, PKR and DAP are keen on making inroads in Sarawak, while local parties like Snap are adamant about fielding their nominees in key seats.

However the Sarawak Pakatan council - comprising top leaders from PKR, DAP, PAS and Snap - has given itself 14 days from March 6 to settle the thorny issue.

"We continue to prepare for the by-election," assured Hadi.
