The Sarawak National Party (Snap) may be a bit too over confident in wanting to field 40 candidates against the BN mainly in rural constituencies in the upcoming 10th Sarwak state

election, said Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) Youth chief Mong Dagang.

He said its leadership was obviously very excited in wanting to prove their worth, party strength and acceptance among the Dayaks.

Snap, he said, was given a new lease of life when the Court Of Appeal decided not to de-register it in June last year.

"Its leaders think the party's strength is still there on the ground despite it having been in a political limbo for about eight years prior to the decision," he told reporters in Sibu today.

PRS, Mong said, was unfazed by SNAP's decision to contest in its constituencies including that of its president Dr James Jemut Masing in Balleh seat.

Snap president Edwin Dundang Bugek had yesterday announced in Kuching the names of its initial 16 out of 40 candidates for the election.
