MIC to discuss Murugiah's position with PM

MIC president G Palanivel said he will discuss with Prime Minister Najib Razak the position of T Murugiah whose term as senator ends on April 18.

NONE He will make an announcement after the discussion which will be held soon, Palanivel told reporters in Ipoh last night after meeting MIC leaders in the state.

Murugiah was appointed deputy minister in the Prime Minister's Department after being made a senator in 2008. He was then representing the Peoples Progressive Party (PPP).

Murugiah was Youth leader of PPP before he was expelled from the party after a dispute with party president M Kayveas.

Murugiah joined the MIC in June 2010.
