Pakatan Rakyat's 'Buku Jingga' or Orange Book which spells out its election promises, would not be needed by the people of Sarawak said UMNO vice president Hishammuddin Hussein.

NONE "It is a little too late to take it to Sarawak because there is no need for it," said Hishammuddin ( right ) who is also the Home Minister when commenting on the book's acceptance in Sarawak.

"We in the government had looked at issues raised like land ownership, rural development and basic needs like water and electricity and we have fulfilled such requirements. So it will be pointless," he said.

He said 'Buku Jingga' shows the difference between Pakatan Rakyat and BN because they only want to take an opportunity during the election.

The 'Buku Jingga' which was unveiled by the opposition last year, proposes an increase in teachers' incentives, the abolishment of the toll system and an annulment of the Internal Security Act, once they take over the ruling of the country.

"We are consistent in our actions right from the beginning, including the focus on Sabah and Sarawak. It is not because there is an election but because there are many who need assistance," he said in Putrajaya today.

"I want to remind the opposition that the promises that they have made in the 'Buku Jingga' during the general election have not been fulfilled in states under their rule," he said.

The people can see and judge for themselves as to who had carried out the promises made and who have not, he said.
