The royal commission of inquiry will be sitting on the weekend of April 2 and 3 to accommodate Thai forensic pathologist Dr Porntip Rojanasunan.

Panel chief James Foong said  the commission will conduct its inquiry from April 2-6, and take a break on April 7 and 8 and the weekend.

He also said British pathologist Dr Peter Vanezis will testify next Tuesday and Wednesday.

Both Porntip and Vanezis were engaged to give their expert opinions during the inquest into Teoh's death.

Porntip, who was engaged by the Selangor government for Teoh’s family, made a shocking revelation that the second post-mortem on Teoh’s body proved that he did not commit suicide.

The expert with Thailand’s Ministry of Justice’s Forensic Science Institute suggested that there was an 80 percent chance that Teoh’s death was homicide.

Last week Porntip was granted personal bodyguards who would be accompanying her throughout her time in Malaysia to testify at the inquiry.

The hearing dates were fixed for the weekend, as per her request, changed from the earlier scheduled dates on March 16 and 17.

azlan Opposing her views was Vanezis, a forensic medical science professor with the Cameron Centre for Forensic Medical Sciences in the United Kingdom.

Vanezis, who was brought in by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), disagreed with Porntip’s assertion, stating that the Teoh’s injuries showed he was most likely “conscious” and “fully orientated”.

The royal panel was set up in late January, after the 18-month-long inquest returned an open verdict.

Teoh, political secretary to Seri Kembangan assemblyperson Ean Yong Hian Wah, was discovered dead on the fifth floor service landing of Plaza Masalam in Shah Alam on July 16, 2009.

He had been questioned overnight as a witness at the then-Selangor MACC office which was on the 14th floor of the building.
