Perak MIC outraged by Nazri's demand

Docs: Looking into Nazri's demand which to me does not sound too outrageous, he does seem to have a point. Here are a few points for MIC to ponder:

1) The Indians are indeed begining to vote BN again as we have witnessed in Tenang, Merlimau and Bagan Pinang. The question is, if they are voting BN because of MIC or are they voting BN because of PM Najib and Umno's promises to Indian community? I think it is the latter and most people are aware of this fact.

2) S Veerasingam also stated, "Perak MIC and the BN have regained Indian support under the leadership of Perak Menteri Besar Zambry Abd Kadir and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak". In short, Indians are voting BN because of Umno's leadership and not because of any extraordinary workings of MIC.

So Nazri does have a point to ask MIC to hand over those six Perak seats. It's more likely Indians will vote for an Umno candidate then an MIC candidate as we have already witnessed.

Ksn: What message is this MIC man sending to Umno and to MIC supporters? To Umno: you can insult us, disgrace us and treat us like pariahs with no dignity, etc.

To the MIC members and others who still support MIC: brothers and sisters, we are pariahs and so we have no choice but be Umno's slaves, so continue voting for MIC and Umno-BN.

Anonymous_3e06: They have sounded the warning bell, the writing is on the wall. We have been telling MIC that they are nobody in BN, but MIC leaders want to prove that they are in an equal partnership with other BN components. The Indians should stop buying this story from MIC.

JBguy: Umno does not have any respect for MIC at all. The DPM ignored the MIC president's grouses against ‘Interlok' and now Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz labels it a party of losers with no grassroots support.

It is clearly evident that Umno is just using MIC to show that it has some Indian votes, which they deem as unnecessary as espoused by Umno's good friend, Ibrahim Ali of Perkasa.

Artchan: Nazri is the hero of the Malays, many times more brave than the Perkasa frog. He dares to tell Chua Soi Lek to go to hell, the same to Koh Tsu Koon, and he tells MIC to give back the seats.

The current PM is gutless to ask for the seats back knowing well that the MIC and MCA seats will be lost anyhow. Three cheers to Nazri.

Rookie: MIC, why put yourself so low, just get out from BN. This is not the first time they are saying these things (making disparaging remarks at component parties). No wonder Singapore former PM Lee Kuan Yew always says that the Indians are third-class citizens in Malaysia.

Interfaith council: Christians now, who next?

Daniel: The BN government plotted this way back in the 80s with full complicity of MCA, MIC, Gerakan, Sabah and Sarawak politicians and the other mosquito parties.

The federal and state constitutions were tweaked but they did not fully execute the changes until the non-Malay parties finally fully lost their guts and bowed to the ‘ketuanan' tide. That's the price we pay for compromising time and again.

The very fact the government is holding the Al-Kitab in the ports shows they do not respect the Christians in this country, nor those of other religions.

The non-Muslims have given in too much to the government by not demanding their equal religious freedom. Never did the government say that Islam is equal with the other religion. This ideology then negates the existence of the other religions.

Imagine the word ‘Allah' is said to belong to the Muslims in Malaysia. There is no other community in the world that practices or adheres to such nonsense. I have spoken to so many Malays and they say that this is utter nonsense.

Kee Thuan Chye: The Christians must not give in. This is all a ploy to settle the issue ahead of the Sarawak elections.

Do not allow yourselves to play into BN's hands, and aid and abet them to win the elections. Stand your ground and demand the treatment granted your religion in the federal constitution. Do not accept this compromise.

Ask yourself who this Christian philanthropist who has offered to pay for the new Bibles. Is he not a crony of BN's? Is he not a Judas amongst you?
