As soon as the latest scandal around the alleged Anwar Ibrahim sex-tape  exploded on Monday, the search was on for the identities of those behind the saga, and when one of them was revealed as businessman Shazryl Eskay Abdullah, interest surged even higher.

Shazryl ( right ), 51, from Naka, Kedah, was said to be a physiotherapist who had worked in the United States, and had spent time with a National Football League team as well as an American college team.

On his return home, he had served with the Badminton Association of Malaysia. Presently, he is a director of Aman Agropreneurs Sdn Bhd.

In 2005, he was appointed by the Thai king to be the honorary consul general of Thailand in Malaysia in Langkawi, to represent the kingdom's interests in Malaysia and promote bilateral ties.

From 2006 to 2007, Shazryl and former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad were appointed to mediate in the Southern Thailand conflict, dubbed the Langkawi peace talks.

And in the 2008 to 2011 period, he was appointed chairperson of the honorary consular corps Malaysia.

However, the physiotherapist who is known to have treated Anwar Ibrahim's bad back, grabbed the spotlight earlier this month following his claim of RM20 million on Merong Mahawangsa Sdn Bhd and its director Yahya A Jalil.

The focus was also on Eskay this week when he admitted being part of the mysterious Datuk T, along with former Malacca Chief Minister Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik and Perkasa treasurer Shuib Lazim.

Rahim Tamby Chik

Rahim Thamby Chik ( below ), the second individual, is the former Malacca chief minister, and one time Umno Youth chief.

Rahim was responsible for engineering the transfer of the state administration from Malacca town to Ayer Keroh.

This was before he resigned from all political posts following allegations of him being involved in the statutory rape of a minor.

Rahim has denied any involvement but maintains that Anwar was behind his forced resignation.

Shuib Lazim

P NONE rior to being the Perkasa treasurer-general, Shuib ( right ) was a senator and MP for Sungai Petani.

He hails from Sungai Petani and is the uncle of present Sungai Petani MP Johari Abdul, one of the few PKR leaders who had watched the sex video.

He is also the father-in-law of current Umno vice-president Shafie Apdal.

Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali had said that Shuib had told him that he wanted to resign as the movement's treasurer-general.

Despite Shuib being involved in the Datuk T scandal, Johari has defended his uncle and described Shuib as an innocent bystander .
