UN official: Dont shrink from human rights scrutiny

Malaysia should not dread international probes into its human rights record if the government has nothing to hide, United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Independence of Judges and Lawyers Param Cumaraswamy said today.

He added that the government should adopt a mature attitude in explaining its policies to the international community.
