Consumer prices up 1 percent year-on-year
Malaysian consumer prices rose 1.0 percent in May from a year earlier and were up 0.1 percent from April, the Statistics Department said today.

According to data released earlier, the CPI in April rose 1.0 percent year-on-year and 0.2 percent from March.
The 1.2 percent year-on-year rise in the January-May period was due to increases in all indices, except for clothing and footwear which fell 2.1 percent, and furniture, furnishings and household equipment and operation, which declined 0.6 percent. - AFP
