BN candidates for the 10th Sarawak state election will be announced tomorrow, said Chief Minister Abdul Taib Mahmud.

NONE Taib, who is also the state BN chairperson, said the announcement would be made at 3pm at the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu Sarawak (PBB) in Kuching.

"I have a meeting tomorrow morning. The announcement (of the candidates) is at 3pm," he said briefly to reporters after opening a programme at the Sukma Ria grounds, Petra Jaya, here today.

Also present at the function were Taib's wife, Ragad Waleed Al-Kurdi, and State Housing and Urban Development Minister Abang Johari Openg.

 

Yesterday, Taib had a meeting with Prime Minister Najib Razak in Putrajaya, where he handed over the list of BN candidates for the state election.

Najib ‘satisfied’

Meanwhile, Najib said today he was satisfied with the list of BN candidates for the polls.

 

"I studied (the list) with the deputy prime minister and the leaders of the BN component parties concerned, and am satisfied with the selected candidates," he told reporters after a lunch with the people in Kampung Permatang Pasir in Balik Pulau, Penang.

The 10th Sarawak state election to pick representatives to the 71-seat state legislative assembly will be held on April 16. Nomination is on Wednesday, April 6.
