Charge trio to prove gov't not involved
'If the government is not involved, Nazri should just ask the government to charge the three datuks. This will be the surest way to clear its name.'
'Azizah not qualified to identify sex video actor'
JBGUY: Mohamad Nazri Abdul Aziz, we are sick of this preponderance over the sex life of politicians.
Why not set up a RCI (royal commission of inquiry) over the billions of ringgit that is flowing out illegally, the instant citizenship given to foreigners in Sabah and Peninsular Malaysia, the independence and impartiality of the judiciary, and MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission), the decline and politicising of education and many more issues of national interest?
HYL: First, they challenged Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail to view the tape and now they said she is not qualified to identify the actor. So why challenge Wan Azizah to view the tape?
Gerard Samuel Vijayan: The death of TBH (Teoh Beng Hock) and the fixing of judges are not important matters to Nazri, they are very small. But an alleged sex recording involving Anwar is a big matter for him.
So what about the biggest matter of all, the death of Altantuya Shaariibuu since the PM and Rosmah Mansor are alleged to be involved, there should be an RCI set up immediately and Nazri should be giving it his utmost priority. Nazri is a confirmed idiot.
Bertrand Russell: "As the government, we must not only be clean, but also perceived to be clean," said Nazri.
If he is serious about the government being seen to be clean, then charge these three stooges first. Only then, he can talk about the RCI.
Gloh: Nazri, do you mean dragging the king's seal into an investigation regarding a sex video? Surely you, as a minister, would not dishonour the royal office in this way?
If the public are going to suspect BN's hand in this crime, ask yourself why (and I believe you already know the answer to this). Is it because such malpractices are a repeated feature of the ruling party?
As Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein (Nazri's colleague) continually insists that the PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police) are professional and responsible, get on with the job and handle it without involving the king.
James Dean: All your legal training have come to naught, Nazri, and we all know where you are coming from. You try to discredit the Anwar family at every opportunity but you bring shame to yourself each and every time you open your foul mouth.
Why would you want to urge the cabinet to form an RCI to investigate the sex tape episode to clear the government's name? If the government is not involved then as a minister you should ask the government to charge the three datuks. This will be the surest way to clear the government's name.
Would you dare? By the way, where are all other ministers? Why so quiet? Maybe most of them agree in private that the guy is not Anwar.
Louis: Setting up an RCI will be wasting our money. BN is a political party. If BN wants to clear its name, it should not use public fund to do so. How can RCI clear BN's name? Will positively identifying the actor clear BN's name? Is that the purpose - to identify the person?
No, Nazri. Whoever is on the recording is not of importance to the public who are gappling with ever rising cost of living. We want the government to spend more time to find ways to improve health services, public transport, and more importantly bring down the price of goods.
We are not interested in who is on the video, as long as it is not one of our ministers.
Quigonbond: Nazri's logic is fuzzy and faulty.
1) What Wan Azizah said is not new - Anwar has already made a denial and lodged a police report. Using her publicised denial as his basis for setting up the RCI is opportunistic.
2) It seems like the only reason for RCI is to determine the identity of the actor. Do we really need an RCI for that? You can just invite a forensic anthropologist from FBI or Scotland Yard to check the bone structure of Anwar and compare it with the actor and make a scientific observation/conclusion.
3) Even if the RCI shows it is Anwar, what he did would be a moral wrong as opposed to a Penal Code offence. So what would the RCI recommend? There is no criminal prosecution for the RCI to recommend unlike the Lingam case.
4) There's no need to rescue BN's image if Datuk Ts are charged. Their criminal offences are clear - an RCI is not required to establish the facts.
Adcin: Actually no one believes that the government is behind the video. But they think that Umno is, as the main perpetrators are from Umno. So when you say that you want to clear government's name, it is actually to clear Umno's.
Isn't this a clear case of conflict of interest when Umno is using the RCI to boost its political fortune? Who choses the panel, the government?
Tailek: Nazri, don't waste my money (I am a taxpayer) to have another RCI. Who the hell cares whether it is Anwar in the video or someone else. Only Umno is concerned because they want to prolong this affair to embarrass Anwar before the GE.
Never mind that three Umno men are the real perpetrators of this criminal act. If you are so concerned about justice, why haven't we hear you scream for their prosecution. Instead you try to protect the Datuk Trio under the Whistleblowers Act and you were wrong there too.
AnakPinang: Custodial deaths in PDRM and corruption do not qualify for RCI but a sex video does. Hurrah for the intellectuals which run this country. No wonder we are heading into the doldrums when we have goons as leaders.
