BN vows to make Sarawak 'richest state'

Multi Racial: After ruling Sarawak for so many years and making Sarawak among the poorest states, one wonders how the same BN government can catapult Sarawak to become the richest state in the country. I am sure many would not believe, but I think it is possible. Just get all of them to return what they have stolen from the state.

The question Sarawakians should ask themselves is what is the likelihood these people will return their stolen wealth if they are voted to power? There is a better chance to get Pakatan Rakyat government to prosecute them once they get into power to get them to return what they have stolen to the state.

It is better to have a fresh start with Pakatan like in Penang where things started to turn for the better with no corruption.

Anak Bangsa Malaysia: After 40 years of milking Sarawak, now you want to pledge to make Sarawak the richest state? You have made yourself so much richer than the state of Sarawak.

You have put yourself before the interest of the people of Sarawak and made yourself a multi-billionaire. You have built a regime around you and now you are feeling guilty and want to redeem yourself and your family and cronies?

Let's say you are sincere. Would anyone in the right mind believe you? You are admitting now that all this while you have robbed the riches of Sarawak totally for yourself. Let's begin with the over 10 reports that have been made with the MACC to investigate Taib Mahmud.

People Power: BN wants to make Sarawak the richest by 2020? Why was this not done earlier? What has the BN been doing all this while? Sleeping? Now you want to do it in 10 years when you have failed to do so after 40 years but instead have been robbing the natives of their rightful inheritance?

You think Sarawakians are stupid enough to believe you can do it in the next 10 years?

Politik Asia: Just freeze Taib's accounts and channel it to the development of the people. Sarawak will immediately be one of the richest states.

Samuel Ng: BN cannot make Sarawak rich. Sarawak is already rich in natural resources. All Sarawak needs is a corrupt-free, people-orientated government which  the BN can never be. Change the government and Sarawakians will become rich in 10 years' time.

Little Giant: Some politicians have the audacity to think that whatever they say, people will believe them.  The BN is not and has never been interested in making Sarawakians rich, except Abdul Taib Mahmud, his family and his cronies. And the BN will surely be happy to make Abdul Taib Mahmud & Co more and more rich by the day, if not by the hour. And that's exactly what the BN has been doing in Sarawak the past four decades.

Wira: I think they have a better chance to make Taib the richest man in this country if he is not already one.

PKR pits shy underdog against S'wak strongman

Nicc: Linda Tsen, an inarticulate, non-Malay speaking piano teacher, can become MP for Batu Sapi. That was because  the BN had the money to make her win. I don't know how this Suriati Abdullah is going to win. I've come across shy candidates before, and mostly they can't connect with the audience. Let's hope Suriati is fiery in her speeches.

Chritopher Loi: Does she have past political experience? From stall operator to sundry shop owner to politician? She can learn, but she better learn fast because she is up against experienced foxes.

Mat: I'm rooting for Suriati, but she stands little chance. That so-called independent, Salleh Jafaruddin, is an Umno's Trojan Horse, to 'teach' Taib 'Pek Moh' Mahmud a lesson.

The corrupt regime will scrap through with a slim majority or lose by a whisker because in the end it is all about money. His billions can buy the Malay-Melanau constituencies. Like they say, "no money, no honey", and in his case there are load, loads of it.

Hidup Rakyats: The issue here is not about who the Sarawakians should choose but the candidate that PKR throws in to face a giant like Taib. Yes, we all want to change the government of Sarawak. But with a greenhorn candidate? What assurance and choice is the PKR throwing to the people?

There are a lot of so-called young and dynamic candidates that Pakatan Rakyat is throwing into the Sarawak state elections. Most of them are greenhorns. Is this what Pakatan has to offer? You are trying to wrest the power from a powerful regime, shouldn't you be offering some heavyweights for the Sarawakians to consider.

Baru Bian, who is Sarawak PKR chief, should have locked horns with Taib himself.

Tony K: Balingian is not a fight between Suriati and Pek Moh. It is a fight between Sarawakians and Pek Moh! May God grant you victory against this Goliath.

P Dev Anand Pillai: She will put most BN women to shame. Suriati's candidacy will note that the opposition is serious in giving women a chance knowing that their votes can turn the tide and a new administration may even take over.

To all aspiring women politicians out there, be brave. Let women be given a chance. Just like what happened to a woman in Tunisia - her stall was demolished by the forces-that-be and she took on the chief of that force.

'Carpet man' concedes taking RM600 mil loan

Rubystar_4037: A bank will only lend you RM1 million if you are worth RM1 million in terms of tangible assets or in possession of land properties which can be utilised as collateral.

Lending you RM600 million to speculate in properties? Yes, the bank will lend to you if they have been arm-twisted by someone very high in the government. Your story does not wash and now that you want to take the devil by the horn by coming out to rebuke what RPK (Raja Petra Kamaruddin) wrote, your face is now known by all in Malaysia. It's better you disappear from Malaysia.

Adcin: If you keep the pressure on, something will soon give, that is Rosmah Mansor/Najib Razak and their possible role in the RM600 million loan.

Admission of the loan already points to a hidden hand and some very strong connections as there's no way a carpet supplier or even property speculator can get such a loan. You do the maths or ask any banker.

Black Mamba: Interesting, RPK managed to smoke this chap out and he admitted he had a RM600 million loan from KFH (Kuwait Finance House). No wonder the head of KFH was recalled and some of the financial institution personnel came under internal investigation. Thanks for confirming our speculation all this while.

Phra Ong Chao: Aha, there is a qualification from Deepak Jaikishan there: Rosmah is a good person, if you know her personally. If . So, according to the logic arising from that sentence and rules of the English language, if you don't know her personally, she may not be a good person.
