Police have recorded statements from 16 people, including family members of Selangor Customs assistant director Ahmad Sarbani Mohamed, who was found dead at Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's Kuala Lumpur office on Wednesday.

   

Kuala Lumpur police chief Zulkifli Abdullah however did not divulge information of how many Ahmad Sarbani's family members had given their statement.

   

"Police will continue to record statements from individuals in connection with the on-going investigation carried out by police," he said after attending a dialogue session on Crime Prevention Awareness at the Wangsa Walk shopping complex organized by MSL Properties in Kuala Lumpur today.

   

Ahmad Sarbani, 56, assistant director in the Selangor Customs Department, was found dead on the first floor of the Kuala Lumpur MACC building located at Jalan Cochrane.

   

When asked to comment on CCTV recordings in the area that were received by the police, Zulkifli said police were analyzing the recordings.

   

"We cannot make hasty decisions because this is a case of public interest," he said.

   

Meanwhile, in the dialogue attended by MSL chairman Lee Lam Thye, residents in Wangsa Maju had urged the police to set up a police station in the area since the population had reached about 350,000.

   

Residents also urged the police to install more CCTV in Sentul, Keramat and Wangsa Maju due to an increase in the number of snatch theft cases.
