The Perak state assembly meeting today endorsed a motion to suspend Khalil Idham Lim (PAS-Titi Serong) from attending a session of the next assembly meeting.

Khalil had been referred to the committee on the rights and previleges of the state legislative assembly on the allegation that he had not spoken the truth and that he had refused to take responsibility for his claim that some assemblymen had brought a bomoh to the May 7, 2010, session.

The suspension decision came after the majority of assemblymen present at today's sitting voted in favour of a motion to endorse a report prepared by the committee which sat on Feb 25.

Another assemblyman Hasbullah Osman (BN-Temenggor), who had also been referred to the committee after he was said to have accused a senior Selangor executive councillor of accepting bribes, would not face any action.

"The committee found that the Titi Serong assemblyman had an outstanding issue and a prima facie case to answer.

"But he failed to do so because he had refused to be present at that meeting," Nasaruddin Hashim (BN-Bota) said when tabling a motion on the committee's report and recommendations.

The four-day assembly was adjourned to a date to be fixed.
