Anwars bail has a chance as Mahathir mellows, says Ezam
Keadilan Youth chief Mohd Ezam Mohd Nor said that changes in the political scene today could be taken as an indication that jailed politician Anwar Ibrahim might stand a chance in being released on bail.
He said the changes, including signs of a mellowed Dr Mahathir Mohamad made him feel optimistic about Anwar's chances in his bail application which is scheduled to be heard by the Court of Appeal on July 14.
He said Mahathir's recent statement on the last day of the recent Umno general assembly about Anwar showed that the prime minister's enmity against his former deputy has softened since 1998.
That year, the prime minister described Anwar as an immoral man who is not fit to be an Umno member.
