Inspector-general of police Ismail Omar was admitted to hospital today after he complained of being unwell at the monthly assembly of the Royal Malaysian Police Force at Bukit Aman.

NONE Police director of management Robiah Abd Ghani said a medical examination revealed that Ismail was merely exhausted and had been ordered to rest for several days at the Pantai Hospital in Bangsar.

Ismail, 57, was rushed to the hospital at the conclusion of the assembly, at about 10.30am, after he said he felt giddy and unwell, she told reporters at the hospital.

The IGP was in stable condition, she said.

Ismail's wife Suriati Md Sobri declined to be interviewed by reporters. She said her husband was resting.
