Police have arrested two brothers for allegedly raping their four sisters in southern Johor state, media reports said today.

Officers picked up the suspects, aged 19 and 20, after one of their sisters, aged 16, lodged a report, district police chief Mohamad Hazam Abdul Halim was quoted as saying by the Malay-language Utusan Malaysia .

The girl claimed she had been raped by her two brothers since she was 10, he said.

She also told police she had tried to tell her mother but was ignored.

Medical check-up

Her three sisters aged seven, 11 and 14 have also lodged police reports alleging they had been raped by their brothers for two or three years.

"All four of them have been sent to hospital for tests," Halim said.

If found guilty, the suspects can be jailed for up to 20 years and whipped. - AFP
