Chinese flocking back to BN? Dream on
'Vote Umno and support Perkasa? Endorse corruption, Ibrahim Ali, Ketuanan Melayu, 1Melayu-1Bumi, Utusan Malaysia, Ridhuan Tee?
Umno confident Chinese will flock back to BN
Cannon: The Chinese are a practical people. They are not out for power, but will like to see the BN as a coalition among equals and real power-sharing within the coalition.
They want to see a country ruled with fairness and justice. Where the constitutional rights of citizens are respected. A country that is free of institutionalised corruption and systemic racial discrimination, where people are granted equal access to opportunities and where hard work and merit are recognised. A country that has a place for the poor and under-privileged across all communities, and affirmative action is carried out on the basis of need, irrespective of race and religion.
If the BN can deliver these changes - which we don't see happening now - there's no reason why BN won't see the return of Chinese support. The ball is in Umno's court. The people are no longer willing to put up with this present BN two-faced 1Malaysia.
Anonymous_3e79: Umno information chief Ahmad Maslan must think that all Chinese are 100 percent materialistic and value it more than an honest, people-serving government.
While the Chinese yearn for better living with materialistic comfort, we believe that it not a right, but it must be achieved with hard work. As one who pays my tax, I also equally demand that I and the country see improvements in the areas of education, transportation and eradication of poverty via the creation of meaningful work/jobs.
Instead, we have a hopeless corrupted ruling coalition lead by Umno that has lead to a hopelessly corrupted civil service (I know it's not fair to generalise, but just look at the Customs, MACC, police force, defence, etc, and you will find that there is almost no transparency).
Petestop: Urban area facilities did not happen because of the government. It happened because of private enterprise, which leads to commerce, which ultimately leads to more tax collected by the government.
If there is no private enterprise, there will be no tax collected. It is this tax collected from private enterprise that enables the building of facilities at urban centres. We owe nothing to the government.
In fact, the government owe us in doing a good and transparent job when using taxpayers' money. It is this simple job function that the current BN government has failed - that is why we are voting and booting them out.
SusahKes: Ahmad Maslan baffles me. After the 2008 Tsunami, we have April 16, 2011. And they still don't get it. Umno's style of old school politics is passe. People want change, they want to be able to enjoy efficient returns on their tax ringgit, not some ‘I help you, you help me' email project.
Simon Lee 3ed5: Flock back to BN? Vote Umno and support Perkasa? Endorse corruption, Ibrahim Ali, Ketuanan Melayu, ‘1Melayu, 1Bumi', Utusan Malaysia , Ridhuan Tee Abdullah?
Support father of racism Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Rahim Thamby Chik, Muhammad Muhammad Taib, Daim Zainuddin, Mohd Khir Toyo, Zakaria Deros, MACC, Abdul Taib Mahmud, Mukhriz Mahathir, S Samy Vellu, Rafidah Aziz, billions of APs issued, toll and ‘highway' robbers?
Support Mat Rempits, snatch thieves, deaths of Atantuya Shaariibuu and Teoh Beng Hock, millions of illegal immigrants, Chua Soi Lek's sex video, billions plundered and stolen, wholesale election corruption? Support cow-head incident, Allah issue, Bible issue, temple issue, church issue, countless unexplained deaths in prison?
Support Petronas only for Malays, colleges and scholarships only for Malays, vice-chancellors only for Malays, civil service only for one race, etc? No, thank you.
Manjit Bhatia: Ahmad Maslan says: "I believe the Chinese appreciate what the government has done for them and they are among the people who enjoy first-class facilities as they live in the urban areas."
In other words, those people who live in rural and remote parts of the country bask in the glory of the government providing them with Third World conditions and still expected to support Umno-BN. This is a guy you would call "bodoh" in Malay, right?
Just how do dumb-asses like Maslan get these positions? Surely not through their prowess of learned, accumulated and applied knowledge.
Hello: Please convey to Ahmad Maslan the Chinese proverb, "Rhinoceros wishing for the moon".
With all the goings-on that is detrimental to the Chinese and other races arising from the policies of the present government, and also the deputy prime minister defending the Utusan Malaysia article of ‘1Melayu, 1Bumi', the Chinese and other races can tangibly feel their alienation from mainstream Malaysia.
The Sensibility: Dear Ahmad Maslan, your words contradict the remarks of your second boss - the DPM. I doubt the Chinese nor other ethnic groups would go back to BN upon reading the DPM remarks.
GI Joe: When BN loses a seat, BN was quick to blame it on the Chinese. When a Chinese party makes a little demand, Perkasa will start making nasty racial remarks and BN indirectly agrees with Perkasa. When Utusan talks about Malay supremacy, BN allows it under the pretext of freedom of speech.
When an anti-BN newspaper makes an unfriendly comment on BN, the paper get suspended. Tell us Maslan, will the Chinese return to BN? BN can't even get support from the young Malays.
