The Sarawak Barisan Nasional will carry out a detailed post mortem on the result of the recent state election, said the special advisor to the Chief Minister, Adenan Satem, in Kuching.

He said that in addition, all elected representatives from the BN would also be making a report on their respective constituencies to determine several problems raised during the last election campaign and it must be ready before the first state assembly sitting expected in June.

“The BN will conduct a thorough post-mortem... where we lost and where we won, the issues raised and ways of overcoming the issues in future,” he told reporters today.

Earlier, Sarawak BN chairman, who is also the Chief Minister, Abdul Taib Mahmud, chaired a BN meeting at the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) headquarters in Kuching, beginning at 11am and ending at 1.30pm, which was also attended by all BN state assemblypersons.

adenan satem and sarawak Adenan said the BN meeting today also touched on preparations by the new assemblypersons in facing their first state assembly sitting as well as several matters which they must face and highlight in their first sitting.

In the last state election, Sarawak BN won 55 state assembly seats out of the 71 contested of which PBB won 35 seats, Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) eight seats, while Parti Rakyat Bersatu Sarawak (SUPP) and the Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) each won six seats.
