The director of a Henry Gurney School in Keningau, Sabah, has been transferred and suspended pending the outcome of police and internal investigations into his alleged role in assaulting a youth late last month.

The order came hot on the heels of allegations that the correctional school director had called over a group of friends to beat up a 23-year-old at a convenience store just before midnight on April 29.

The group was allegedly caught on the 24-hour store's CCTV camera, repeatedly punching, kicking and hitting the youth with various objects, including a plastic chair and belts.

The footage has since been widely circulated on the Internet, especially on the social networking site Facebook.

It is believed the director and three others were detained on May 3 and had their statements recorded after the victim, Ben Cheah Ping Xen, lodged a police report on the attack.

The father stressed that there should be no cover-up in the case, especially since the incident was captured on the store's security camera and the footage has made its rounds on the Internet.
