Selangor Umno has targeted to capture at least 30 state seats for Barisan Nasional (BN) in the 13th general election, said its liaison committee deputy chairman, Noh Omar.

He said Umno and BN were on the road to recovery in restoring the people’s confidence and were confident of wresting the state from the opposition.

NONE “We are ready as if tomorrow is the general election and we will focus on white and grey areas and we believe we will win them back,” Noh ( left ) told reporters after opening the Pengkalan Chepa Umno division delegates meeting in Pengkalan Chepa today.

Pakatan Rakyat holds 35 out of 56 seats in the Selangor state assembly while BN has 20 seats and an Independent, one.

He said the Pakatan state government was saddled with many shortcomings and broken promises.

Noh, who is also Minister of Agriculture and Agro-based Industries, said all parliamentary constituencies were allocated with a special provision of RM100,000, to help poor farmers.

“The allocation will be channelled to the parliamentary agricultural development council to carry out small projects to assist the farmers,” he said.
