He said the number of laptops allocated for Sabah formed 14 percent of the total 1.2 million 1Malaysia laptops for distribution to eligible Malaysians nationwide.
“Under the first phase, a total of 10,000 units of the 1Malaysia laptops have been distributed to residents, including students, in Sabah, last year," he said in his speech at the presentation of the laptops to 1,000 students in 10 secondary schools in the Kalabakan parliamentary constituency in Tawau today.
Present to give away the laptops was Kalabakan member of parliament Abdul Ghapur Salleh.
Juslly Elis said that phase two involved 49,832 laptops and the third phase, 112,500 units, of which 52,000 units would be allocated for students.
Meanwhile, Abdul Ghapur advised the students to fully utilise the facility provided to them by the Barisan Nasional government under the leadership of Prime Minister Najib Razak.
