MIC Youth is resorting to desperate acts to defame the Penang government knowing that they can never regain power, fired back an aide to the state’s Deputy Chief Minister II P Ramasamy.

NONE M Satees ( right ), who is Ramasamy’s field officer, was accused of threatening to cause harm to G Kalaicelvan, Kampung Meru branch MIC chief, who lodged a police report over the matter.

Kalaicelvan said yesterday that he was warned for his active involvement on micro-blogging website Twitter , in criticising the state government in its efforts to promote the welfare of the Indian community.

“I think MIC Youth is so desperate to create such a story to defame me and the deputy chief minister’s office.

“The Penang MIC know that they have lost their ground in Penang, (and) can never come back... that’s why they are out to launch personal attacks against Ramasamy,” said Satees.

Satees also lodged a police report today to counter the claims and denied knowing Kalaicelvan.

“MIC did nothing for Indians in Penang in the past 53 years when they were in power, (and) now they are throwing all kind of accusations and allegations against those who are doing it. This is the typical loser mentality,” he said.

NONE Satees added that the MIC is staging a “drama” because he had once questioned the party’s Youth chief T Mohan on his promise to provide RM3.2 million to several families involved in the Kampung Buah Pala controversy.

Kampung Buah Pala, a 200-year-old Indian settlement, was demolished in September 2009 to pave the way for the construction of the Oasis project by landowner Penang Civil Servant Cooperative Society and developer Nusmetro Venture (P) Sdn Bhd.

“I had said that Mohan was the person who misled the nine families not to sign the state government’s deal, and now left them in limbo... and these statements were carried by several Tamil newspapers in the previous weeks,” he said.

Intends to pursue legal action

Satees added that he intend to pursue legal action against Kalaicelvan and MIC for defamation.

“I have never met Kalaicelvan before. He is an active MIC Youth member on Twitter . I had a few arguments with him and other MIC members on Twitter on various issues.

“When they got too personal in attacking me, I ignored them, and now they are accusing me of threatening him, his wife and child,” said Satees.

“I deny all those allegations against me and wish to make clear that I would never do such things, as I believe one’s family should not included in any political rivalries,” he added.
