Defence team to interview PM, wife

Pakman: Get all the potential witnesses interviewed and make sure that PM Najib Razak, his wife Rosmah Mansor, senator Ezam Mohd Nor and the former police chief Musa Hassan are on the witness stand.

Make sure these prominent and 'key' witnesses appear in court without any exemption. We the Malaysians public are looking forward to see how the court proceedings will be on display as this event will be regarded as a historic event.

The rakyat will eventually be the actual 'judge' in determining that the 'truth'.

Ferd Tan: Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim is not going to win in the sodomy trial: that's the forgone conclusion - that he will be found guilty. Get Najib, Rosmah and the rest on stand, even though they would certainly be hostile witnesses. Just go for broke - make them sweat and put fear into them.

Don't fight the court and prosecutors in the usual way. As shown in the past, Anwar never got any justice. The unorthodox way is to get the maximum publicity out of the trial, and rattle the deputy public prosecutor and the judge by 'within limits of disobedience'.

This may get adverse publicity in the foreign press, which the government can do without. Anwar has no other choice but to fight dirty.

M'sia1st: God is Great! Its indeed a blessing in disguise for such a judgment yesterday since it will give the lawyers ample opportunity to grill the PM, Rosmah and the rest of the gang.

Isa@1penyu: Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin, your analysis is right and we hope the government takes heed of what you are saying. Giving positive suggestion should be the norm, and not like Pakatan Rakyat which only knows how to criticise and nothing else.

Josephine: Let's face it, the BN ministers and top politicians did not get to where they are by being dumb. And we don't need an Oxford graduate like Khairy to say what needs to be done. They all know what needs to be done, but none dare to speak the truth for it is unpopular.

Khairy has probably concluded that he has very little chance to get a shot at top spot in the BN cabinet, and has hence opted to act such as to preserve his own personal dignity and honour.

KSN: Khairy, you should have asked for elimination of corruption and rent-seeking in government spending and development projects.

Malaysiawatch4.blogspot: I agree with Khairy. We can reduce the number of civil servants by 40 percent, and this will also reduce corruption all round. Those civil servants could be absorbed by the private sector in plantations, construction and manufacturing.

We should also reduce incentives to industries that are labour-intensive and provide grants to companies to increase mechanisation and automation. Approved Permits (APs) should be abolished within two years and all protection reduced from the local auto industry.

Fair Mind: Thank you Khairy, for speaking out for the rakyat. This makes a lot of sense when nobody in BN has spoken on such an obvious solution. We hope you are not talking about this only because the snap election is near.

Md Imraz Ikhbal: Mere minutes ago, Dr Chua Soi Lek to my surprising admiration called for the extremists to be opposed for the betterment of the country and its harmony. That led me to applaud him openly for it. And now Khairy asserts the obvious sensible truth which every right-thinking rakyat have no choice but to unconditionally support.

What's happening with BN here? A miraculous stroke of conscience? Or the general election is ever so around the corner?

MCA blasts extremists in Wesak Day message

Ketuanan Rakyat: Dr Chua Soi Lek, do not give grounds for your master Umnoputras to turn their attention to Buddhists as they have done to Christians. Umnoputras are very desperate now.

Hence, it would better for all of us just to play it cool and give them the hope that Malaysians are now backing to them. Let us take whatever goodies they give before the GE.

Geronimo: Watch it, Chua. The Buddhists may be the next target of Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali and his ilk. To make such a statement on a religious day like Wesak Day is a no-no. It is tantamount to trampling on the sensitivities of Ibrahim and his men, and he would probably say something like, "What if I had said it on Propher Mohamad's birthday?"

So Chua, please "don't play with fire" and "don't challenge them". Get the drift?
