The proposed election dry run for the 13th general election will be the main topic of discussion at tomorrow's Umno management committee meeting, the party's secretary-general Tengku Adnan Mansor said.

He said the meeting, to be held in Putrajaya, would be chaired by deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin.

NONE "We will bring up the matters that are discussed at tomorrow's meeting to the Umno supreme council meeting on May 27 to decide on the date for the election dry run at all divisions nationwide," he told reporters after flagging off the Federal Territory Puteri Umno's 'Ziarah Kasih' convoy in Putrajaya today.

He said that from feedbacks received, all Umno divisions were waiting for the date to hold the election dry run.

Tengku Adnan said Umno was now focusing on efforts to register its members as voters.

He said there were about 400,000 Umno members who were eligile to vote, but had yet to register as voters.

'Make sure Umno wins 100 per cent'

Meanwhile, Umno vice-president Mohd Shafie Apdal has rallied the Malays and bumiputeras to emulate the fighting spirit and unity demonstrated by earlier generations against the colonialists.

He noted that such fighting spirit and unity at that time had made possible, the country's independence and its current development.

NONE Mohd Shafie said the unity among past leaders had helped thwart attempts by the colonialists to form the Malayan Union which the latter had hoped, would banish the Malay Rulers.

"We want the Malays and bumiputeras to be united as it is a prerequisite for the coming election. We need party members in all divisions to be as one.

"We want to make sure that Umno wins 100 per cent in all areas," he told reporters after launching the Semporna Umno division delegates meeting today.

On Umno members who had not registered as voters, Mohd Shafie, who is also rural and regional development minister, advised them to do so as every vote counted in ensuring BN continued to rule.
