The Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) is ready to hold discussions with Pakatan Rakyat on how to face BN in the upcoming general election.

SAPP has formed a committee headed by vice president Dullie Marie to hold discussions with Pakatan’s three-member panel from DAP.

"SAPP is now waiting for an announcement from PKR vice president Fuziah Salleh," said Dullie in a statement today.

PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim predicted that the ruling BN party could dissolve Parliament and call for an election as early as July this year.

He said that negotiations are important to enable the opposition to face BN in the upcoming election on a one-on-one basis.

"Once the negotiations are completed, both SAPP and Pakatan will be able to organise their election machineries to work on the ground more effectively," he added.

Dullie noted that negotiations are vital and needed to take place as soon as possible to help the opposition prepare well and avoid any last-minute manoeuvring.

He said that an understanding by both parties would give the opposition a good chance to topple the ruling BN.
