Sarajun Hoda: Is the government in trouble? Is truth finally catching up? One can end up lying a thousand times to defend a lie and still loses at the end. This could cost the PM the government if the half-baked prosecutors and judges do not find a quick way out.

Imagine the opposition lawyers grilling the high-profile witnesses. Movie directors should get ready - an interesting soap drama is in the making.

Righteous: All of the remaining witnesses are being given a lesson in amnesia by the recently discharged former PM. Be patient, Sankara Nair. Everything will be revealed in good time.

PM Najib Razak has better things to do, now that the fleet of Eurocopter Cougar helicopters are to be delivered soon.

I'm sure Najib and Rosmah would not want to be grilled by Karpal Singh and gang on the witness stand. I guess that was why chief justice ended up in IJN (National Heart Institute) as he could have been told by his bosses in Umno to move the case along without Najib and Rosmah being called to the stand and get Anwar behind bars as soon as possible.

Expect yet another travesty of justice to happen here.

Anwar applies to disqualify sodomy trial judge, again

AnakMalaysia: Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim has every right to do this, and it is the right thing for him to seek a new judge.

This whole sodomy II episode has already a foregone conclusion - that Anwar must go to jail. That is why all efforts are made by Umno/BN to attack Anwar, day and night, using all available means and avenues.

Pakatan Rakyat must also use all available means and resources to ensure justice for Anwar and Malaysian taxpayers. These dirty political ploys are a waste of time, a waste of resources and a waste of taxpayers' money.

Cala: Under the circumstance, this is the right thing to do. If Anwar keeps his silence, it would be interpreted as him acceding to the conduct of the trial judge.

As rightly argued by Embong (2008) as found in Nelson et al (2008) eds. ‘Globalisation and national autonomy: The experience of Malaysia', there is hardly any distinction between 'the state' and the government of the day after a long period of rule by Umno-led BN regime. The government has in fact, conflated with the state (the judiciary and the bureaucracy, etc) in a ‘developmentalist state'.

In such a situation, the wishes of PM Najib shall be implemented by the said trial judge faithfully.

Adcin: Good move by Anwar. If the government feels it fit to waste the rakyat's time with this nonsensical trial, Anwar should waste more time and put judge Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah also in the dock for his incredible decisions.

Loyal Malaysian: Yes, Anwar's legal team must try every and any conceivable legal maneuver to get another judge to hear the next phase of the trial.

Of course, there's no guarantee even in the unlikely event that Anwar's team succeed this time, he'll get a judge who's fair and just and willing to hear the case based sole on its merits, rather than a pre-set script.

Docs: Fat chance that will happen. Anyhow it's worth a shot, Anwar.

Ordered to tweet 100 apologies for defamation

Ferdtan: How stupid can one be? One apology is not enough - you need to apologise 100 times? This is just like in primary schools when we have to write 100 lines like: "I must not be bad."

The punishment meted out by Blu Inc Media and Female magazine is not only childish but utterly stupid. Fahmi Fadzil has already apologised even before being told to do so: this shows that he is a responsible person.

The company should have leave it well alone. Fahmi Fadil, you still come out fine. Just be more careful next time.

Wira: Yes, Blu Inc is certainly being petty and frivolous. Fahmi retracted his tweet and apologised the same day after realising his mistake. I am going to punish Blu Inc by not buying any of their products for a month starting today. I hope others will follow.

Montie: It will make anyone sick to read the same apology 100 times a day. Fahmi, you should just do one tweet saying "I am sorry, multiply by 100", which should be good enough, and repeat this for three days to protect yourself from any legal charges.

Kgen: It's very petty and childish to make Fahmi tweet his apology 100 times a day for three days. The large number of tweets on the same matter can be considered spam and will backfire on Blu Inc.

Pants on Fire: Not only am I not buying anymore of the magazine, but I will also not read if I see one anywhere. That's unless Blue Inc tweets 100 times to say they have bungled big time.
