Copies of the sex video allegedly featuring PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim continue to make the rounds around the country and now two top opposition leaders are claiming its circulation to be "a desperate attempt" and dirty politics in the works.

PKR vice-president Tian Chua said that in a very recent case, an unknown person created a fake email account using his name and sent out an email attesting that the person in the sex video is Anwar.

NONE "This is clearly a shallow and unethical move... and the worse yet action by the BN, impersonating me and sending the email to MPs and state assemblypersons saying that I am confirming the person in the sex video is indeed Anwar," Tian Chua ( right ) said.

The MP for Batu said the hacker had committed a "criminal act" by infiltrating his address book and sending the email to those in his address list.

He will lodge a complaint with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) by today or tomorrow at the latest.

This is the content, verbatim, of the email sent out in Tian Chua's name:

"The full version of Anwar's video sex has been published in particular website today. I already seen the video and confirmed it was Anwar. The video taken from 4 angles and it's hard to deny that it wasn't Anwar.

"In order to stand firm on integrity of our vision, it is unacceptable to protect any wrongdoing morale of our member in Pakatan Rakyat.

"Therefore, I urge all the Pakatan leaders from PKR, DAP and PAS as well to insist police to reveal who us the actor in the video. This is the only way to show that we are very concern on morale issues... The video can be accessed at http://anwar-serba-boleh.tumblr. com/"

According to Tian Chua, the email was sent from tianchua@ rocketmail.com - an account he has nothing to do with.

Meanwhile, PKR Wanita chief Zuraida Kamaruddin is also furious, having received an envelope with a compact disc containing the 22-minute sex video in her mailbox this morning.

This is part of a string of such incidents reported in Selangor since last month.

The video was first aired to select members of the media at Carcosa Seri Negara, an exclusive hotel in Kuala Lumpur, on March 21, by three individuals who were dubbed as ‘Datuk T'.

They subsequently revealed themselves to be former honorary Thai Consul in Langkawi Shazryl Eskay Abdullah, former Malacca chief minister Rahim Thamby Chik and former Perkasa treasurer Shuib Lazim.

Meanwhile, in a related matter, PKR Selangor spokesperson and Seri Muda assemblyperson Shuhaimi Shafiei said the party’s representatives are gunning for 11 parliamentary seats in the state.

PKR now holds eight parliamentary seats and is confident of retaining them, and aims to win Sabak Bernam and Pandan, which it had lost by 1,335 and 2,961 majorities, respectively.

“Therefore, we are embarking on phase two of the Jelajah Selangor Tawan Malaysia campaign on June 11 in opposition (BN)-held Tanjong Karang,” he said.

The first phase of their campaign ended on June 5, with 33 programmes including conventions and talks rolled out.
