HONG KONG - A Malaysian national was sent to jail for 22 months here after being caught with forged US and Hong Kong passports and identity documents, immigration officials said.

Chung Choon-long, 23, had pleaded guilty to possessing six forged Hong Kong passports, one forged US passport and six forged Hong Kong identity cards, they said in a statement.

Chung was caught with the fake documents when he arrived at Hong Kong airport in June from the Netherlands via Malaysia, the statement said.

He admitted he had been promised 300 yuan (US$36) for each passport and identity card he carried, plus free air passage between the Netherlands and Hong Kong. - AFP
