Anwar's back pain worsens, asks for second medical opinion
Jailed ex-deputy prime minister Anwar Ibrahim has sent an application to the prisons department seeking permission to have his slipped disc examined by his own medical specialist, said his lawyer Sankara Nair.
Sankara told malaysiakini that the letter was sent to the Sungai Buloh prison director Hassan Sakimon this afternoon seeking his green light to get a second opinion on his current health condition which has recently worsen.
The lawyer said they decided to make the application following Anwar's complaint of "renewed severe back pain" that has been recurring over the past three weeks.
