Ten Malaysian volunteers, including two media representatives, will be joining the International Humanitarian Flotilla II-Stay Human mission to Gaza in Greece.

NONE Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin (left) said the second Lifeline4Gaza (LL4G) by volunteers would fly from the KL international airport to Athens for the one-week mission on Sunday.

Khairy, who will also be joining the mission, said about 600 volunteers from NGOs from 20 countries would assemble on a

Greek island before they set sail for the Palestinian shore.

"We expect to reach the Palestinian coast on Wednesday or Thursday," he told reporters after attending tahlil and blessing prayers hosted by Umno for the Malaysian volunteers in Kuala Lumpur last night.

He said the International Freedom Flotilla II comprised not only volunteers from Islamic countries but also from the United States and European countries, including non-Muslims.

Khairy said he was confident that the mission would succeed and raise awareness on the atrocities inflicted against the Palestinians by the Zionist regime.

khalid samad pas muktamar The flotilla, which comprises 13 international vessels (10 passenger ships and three cargo vessels), will be ferrying medicines and construction material for Palestinians in Gaza.

Headed by LL4G president Dr Noorazman Mohd Samsudin, members of the mission include Aman Malaysia chairman Ahmad Zaki Zahid, Shah Alam MP Khalid Abdul Samad (right) , Malaysian Muslim Care treasurer Wahijan Zulkefli, Islamiah al Ehsan Welfare Organisation secretary Ismail Darus, Astro Awani reporter Nazri Kahar and cameraman Wan Yusani Amir.
