The federal police headquarters (Bukit Aman) in a statement issued last night announced promotions and transfers involving 12 senior officers.

The statement said Sarawak police commissioner DCP Mohmad Salleh has been appointed as the new police chief for Kuala Lumpur.

It said DCP Mortadza Nazarene, formerly the deputy director of management (Training) at Bukit Aman has appointed as the new Sarawak police commissioner while Kelantan police chief SAC Abd Rahim Hanafi takes over Mortadza's post at Bukit Aman.

Perlis police chief SAC Tajudin Md Isa has been appointed Deputy Director I, Commercial Crime Investigation Department, Bukit Aman while Sarawak CID head, SAC Huzir Mohamed has been made Principal Assistant Director (D9), Criminal Investigation Department, Bukit Aman.

Deputy Commander of the Police's Air Unit, ACP Kamarulzaman Md Jan has been promoted as the unit's commander with the rank of acting SAC (Senior Assistant Commissioner.

Perak CID deputy head, ACP Zulkifli Hassan has been appointed Sarawak CID head also with the rank of acting SAC while Kedah police management department head, ACP Hasanuddin Hassan, is now the Principal Assistant Director of Management (Personnel), Management Department, Bukit Aman. His rank is also acting SAC.

Perlis deputy police chief ACP Zull Aznam Haron has been promoted as the state police chief with the rank of acting SAC.

ACP Nor Azizan Anan, formerly an assistant director at Bukit Aman CID, has been appointed as the head of the general policing divisison (D10), Forensic Laboratory, CID, Bukit Aman while the post of the post of deputy head of Perak CID, Intelligence/Operations has been filled by ACP Fadzil Ahmat, from Bukit Aman.

Also Supt S.Sathiya Seelan of Bukit Aman's Air Unit's Operations/Intelligence Section has been promoted to deputy commander (operations) of the Police's Air Unit with the rank of Acting Assistant Commisioner of Police.  

All the appointments are effective today.
