Atan-Toyol: PM Najib Razak is saying that professionals like lawyers cannot have a political opinion, right? What kinds of professionals are these bunch of lawyers if they cannot differentiate between partisan politics and political governance?

Bersih is fighting for fair elections, where the playing field is level. Why is the BN afraid of a level-playing field? Because they want to win by cheating - the only way they know how. Don't they have a conscience? Do they think this country belong to BN only? Any political party can aspire to rule this country if they have sound ideas and good intention.

We are fed up with monopoly of the BN in everything political. They should be give a long break and time to reflect on their mistakes in governing this country.

DannyLoHH: The police are the ones who are creating chaos and anarchy by arresting people without any legal basis. The home minister is the one who circumvent all democratic principle by enacting law on the go when he outlawed all things yellow.

The ruling regime and its supporters are the ones who are taking the law into their own hands. No, correction, they have become law unto themselves. How else could they explain the blatant double standards where Umno Youth members, who openly threatening arson, bloodshed and violence, walks free, whereas people donning yellow found themselves arrested?

You can't get uglier than Umno and the police now. The silence of MCA, MIC, PPP, Gerakan and the many so-called BN component parties is also telling.

Malaysians Are Not Stupid: Why is there a need for PM Najib Razak to tell the lawyers what to do and what not to do? Since, like he says, the lawyers are professionals, they should know what is right and what is wrong.

Furthermore, why is he so afraid of the rakyat expressing what in their opinion is not right? Must everyone in the country just simply toe the government's line?

Double confirmation: EC is a stooge of BN

Khairudin Hassan: I pity for all of us that we had to read such a stupid statement from a person who are suppose to be fair, transparent and clean. SPR (Election Commission) has to always remember that all political parties are their clients. Without the political parties and the voters, they don't exist.

Malaysiasakit: Let's make no mistakes here. The moment EC loses the respect and confidence of the rakyat, its position is no longer tenable. And this is exactly what EC is facing right now.

OneOldFatGuy: The EC is supposed to be apolitical just like our constitutional monarch. So it is only natural that if the citizens of Malaysia believes that EC is partisan or is not performing to their expectations, the citizens should have the right to bring the matter to the attention of our DYMM Yang diPertuan Agung on July 9.

Atan-Toyol: EC deputy chief Wan Ahmad Wan Omar should resign gracefully from his deputy chairman's post since he has shown to all and sundry that he favours BN, when his stand should be neutral as a 'referee'.

It is obvious that he does not understand his role as a member of the EC. This is blatant abuse of power to influence Malaysians to just vote for the BN, when it is known and perceived by all that BN has reached a stage of decadence in it political life. It has reached its expiry date. Just dump this BN for good.

Subsidy cuts aim to slash wastage and inefficiency

Joker: So Pemandu, you admit education and healthcare are public goods, thus they can't be counted as 'subsidy'. Therefore, your RM74 billion subsidy figure is wrong and misleading. Please apologise to the public.

If you are sincere in cutting wastage and inefficiency, please strongly promote an open tender system (lowest bidder wins, not the highest) for all government contracts above RM5 million and use that as a KPI. Please also monitor how much is spent on 'lawatan sambil belajar' (study visits) by each ministry and use that as a KPI as well (again, the lesser the better, not more).

Finally, Pemandu itself must get rid of all foreign consultants or if not, fire all your managers since they have outsourced all work that requires thinking to consultants anyway. There's a lot of wastage and inefficiency right there.

Douglas Tan 25b2: A pile of economic gibberish. Pemandu has been unable to substantiate the differences between what was reported and the actual numbers. It is clear from the report that subsidy figures were exaggerated and your reply clearly serves not as a rebuttal, but merely a justification.

Furthermore, a macro-economic approach towards subsidy spending is another way of saying that Pemandu has completely glossed over the details presented by the accounting figures, and it is subject to the definition of a 'subsidy' as dictated by Pemandu that the statistics announced by the said department is based on, rather than the actual figures.

Fairnessforall: This is utter rot. Don't give us this mumbo jumbo. Pemandu's so-called rebuttal does not rebut anything.
