your say 'While his passing is indeed a personal loss to the many who knew him, there is an even greater loss. We have lost one more voice against injustice.'

Prominent lawyer Raja Aziz Addruse passes away

Dr David KL Quek: My deepest condolences to the family of this courageous and righteous man. A truly formidable character who was fearless for the truth and sanctity of the law.

My wife and I had been privileged to have met and known Raja Aziz Addruse and his wife these past few years, and had always found them humble, unaffected and genuine friends, always with that unassuming passion and justice for the people and our changing, if challenging, national issues and interests.

We will miss him sorely. Goodbye and may God bless his soul. Raja Aziz Addruse - tokoh Malaysia yang tulen .

Moontime: Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun. ( To Allah we belong, and to Allah we return). May Allah bless his soul and place him among those who are pious. A brave and courageous man who's never been afraid to speak the truth, Raja Aziz Addruze will be missed.

Poppyie: Malaysia has lost a well-respected lawyer whose life has been dedicated to true justice.

Tc: This man's passing is a great loss to this nation and especially to the legal fraternity. He was humble but at the same time fearless. He responded with bravery to the judicial crisis when Tun Salleh Abas was victimised.

A man of principle, he refused any brief to appear in the then Supreme Court when Tun Hamid Omar usurped the position of Lord President. He always encouraged young lawyers to serve the Bar.

How I wish he could have remained longer to see the changes that this country is about to undergo. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

Jimmy Ng: It is so sad to hear that another prominent and towering Malaysian has passed away. Raja Aziz Addruze was well-respected by many, especially those in the legal profession. We shall all miss him.

Disgusted: Our sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family of a noble and upright man. He fought the good fight against tyranny and corruption, and stood his ground until the end without wilting.

The nation lost a great man. God bless his family, and may his sons and daughters continue his legacy.

Abasir: Just going by the condolences expressed here, one can draw rightful conclusions about the kind of person Raja Aziz was.

While his passing is indeed a personal loss to the many who knew him, there is an even greater loss from which Malaysians in general will not recover. We have lost one more voice against wrongdoing, injustice and crooked politicians.

For a country which is already running very low on men and women of character, the passing of Raja Aziz means we are that much closer to national decay.

EwanM: Raja Aziz, you are one noble, respected gentleman, a towering Malaysian. 'Harimau mati meninggalkan belang, manusia mati meninggalkan nama' (When tigers die, they leave their stripes. When men die, they leave their names).

You are a hero who will be remembered for your brave deeds. May your soul rest in peace.

Loyal Malaysian: I will forever remember him as that brave lawyer who defended former Lord President Tun Salleh Abbas during the attack on the judiciary.

P Dev Anand Pillai: He was one of the best lawyers that our nation had ever produced, well-respected in the Bar and the Bench and known as a person who was very humble and courteous to his fellow members of the Bar.

A man of principle and values which we rarely see in lawyers today. He was a towering Malay and a honourable Malaysian. It is a great loss to the Bar and to the civil rights movement in country.

Hidup Rakyat: Sir, you will always be remember as a hero to all Malaysians.

Toffeesturn.blogspot.com: A patriot, a gentleman, and a man of honour. A true Malaysian. A legacy we should cherish - his life and how he lived it. You did not have to know him personally to respect him. He earned it and his passing will be mourned by many.

Mirror on the Wall: He was a credit to his race, the human race. The likes of him, we probably will never ever see again.

Tunku Abdul Aziz: It is with great sadness I learn of the passing of Raja Aziz Addruse, one of the founders of Transparency International Malaysia with me. A Malay gentleman, a great Malaysian of the highest integrity. May his soul rest in peace.

David Dass: I have known Raja Aziz Addruse since 1971. In that time, I have had the opportunity to work with him on a few matters. He was a formidable advocate practising to the highest standards of the Bar.

In the opinion of many lawyers he was an outstanding chairman of the Bar Council courageously rising to the many challenges the Bar and the nation faced over the years. He was a man of incredible courage and unimpeachable integrity. He was also soft spoken and had time for anyone with a problem.

His untimely passing removes from the legal scene a great lawyer. Raja Aziz Addruse will be greatly missed. Our heartfelt condolences to his family for their loss.

Rasman: Al-Fatihah! Semoga Raja Aziz bersama-sama dengan orang-orang yang beriman!

Khalid Ahmad Sulaiman: We have lost a good and courageous man. He was a lawyer of the highest intergrity and honesty that I have come across in our profession. May Allah bless his soul.

Multi Racial: Rest in peace. I am sure for all the good deeds you have done, you will be rewarded beyond life.

Madhavankuttyk: Rest in peace, noble Malaysian.
