Queen Elizabeth has a sense of humour

your say 'Someone out there must be trying to get you. Just ask Health Minister Liow Tiong Lai, he will explain to you what I mean.'

Sizzling yellow reception for Najib in Britain

Vijay47: I hope somebody can publish a photo of the look on Najib Razak's and Rosmah Mansor's faces when they entered the room and saw Queen Elizabeth standing there smiling sweetly at them in a yellow dress.

I will gladly pay a million ringgit. No, make it RM24 million.

Werewolves: Najib, the protesters were holding yellow posters and banners, the car number plate was yellow, the Queen wore a yellow dress, the flowers at the background were yellow too.

Someone out there must be trying to get you. Just ask Health Minister Liow Tiong Lai, he will explain to you what I mean.

YellowBoxer: How about that - Her Majesty the Queen wearing yellow? I wonder what went on in Najib's and Rosmah's head upon seeing the Queen in yellow.

Apparently the Queen of England is sympathetic with the Malaysian people who have all these years lost their true freedom, after being given a token independence by the British.

The British must be regretting for giving independence too early to Malaya, because after 54 years, the country is still misruled by a dictatorial regime.

Joker: I love the Queen's dress. I have never seen her in yellow and I must say, it must have been purely a 'coincidence' for her to be dressed in yellow. Too bad her shoes were not yellow.

I noticed that Rosmah is not wearing a tudung. Is that okay? Any fatwa on that? I wonder if she is also wearing a certain diamond ring from Jacob & Co.

Malaysian Down Under: Calling it a ‘coincidence' misses the symbolism which is not lost on most of us. The Queen is a politically astute woman, who has seen 12 British prime ministers serve under her reign. Even the yellow flowers in the background seem to champion the cause of Bersih. It was just classic.

She exuded the grace and majesty expected of one of the oldest monarchies in the world, letting her outfit quietly express her misgivings. Some photos show Najib bowing as he shakes the Queen's hand.

You can't help but see it as Najib ceding to the noble cause of Bersih which seemed to be embodied by her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Or maybe she had to wear the yellow outfit as all her other dresses were at the cleaners.

Najib's UK visit was meant to be a triumphant tour, especially having his pictures taken with the head of the oldest democracy in the world.

But the Queen reminded Najib that democracy was not just a fancy slogan, but a principle of government. Never before has a yellow outfit spoken so eloquently.

People Power: Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein, where are you hiding? You are supposed to protect your tainted cousin, Najib. Order the police to arrest Queen Elizabeth II for wearing yellow.

RAW: Sorry to disappoint those who believe the Queen was wearing yellow for Bersih. Check out this link .

Queen for Bersih? Maybe yes, maybe no (if one wishes to find out, one needs to ask Her Majesty), but it doesn't matter what the answer is.

Anonymous: It may be that everyone is reading more than they need to about the Queen in yellow. But Najib, on the other hand, can always find a bogeyman in every corner of his small brain.

Joe Lee: The Queen has been around a long time, and she is an expert in understanding the varying degrees of tin-pot dictatorships, especially those of her former colonies.

She also appreciates, more than anyone, the symbolism of everything that you do or wear. She would also have been briefed fully on the protests in Malaysia and elsewhere. She knows she is dealing with a little ‘samseng' (thug) from a Third World country.

In other words, by wearing yellow, she's giving Najib the small-bit gangster from Malaysia the tradition English gesture of the middle finger.

Rubystar_4037: It is a government-to-government protocol that the Queen has to meet the PM of Malaysia in Buckingham palace. But the British did not miss out on the subtle message to tell Najib that he was not really welcome here and that the British abhorred the way Najib handled the Bersih rally.

Najib should call on his fraction of three million Umno members who are in UK to give him support, but none of this happen. The British has shamed the PM of Malaysia internationally, and intentionally.

Cala: In this era of Internet, technology has flattened the earth into a single global village. Not only Najib has to deal with "micro- situational variables" of Malaysian politics, Perkasa, Utusan Malaysia and Bersih-marchers, he also has to make peace with "broader contextual variables" beyond Malaysian shores.

At that level, Najib cannot rely on his normal routines of bulldozing through anything that pleases him. In the age of Internet, his every move is put under microscopic view.

Anonymous_3e4b: The first reaction from Najib must be that of shock 'with mouth wide open' upon seeing the Queen in yellow. Coincidentally or not, the Queen must be peeved off by Najib's 'Mubarak style' handling of those thousands of peaceful protesters.

Curious Observer: HRH Queen Elizabeth has been around for many years and is still as astute and sharp as can be. She is definitely aware the significance of the colour of a dress she put on for any occasion, and this bright yellow outfit that she's adorning is no exception.

It's a sharp but politically correct dig at Najib and Rosmah for their stance on Bersih 2.0. QE2, we the Malaysian rakyat salute you!

Black Mamba: The Queen of England is a patron of Bersih. Long live the Queen!
