The family of Baharuddin Ahmad, who died after collapsing during the July 9 rally, should seek apology from the rally organisers and opposition leaders, PPP President M Kayveas said.

kayveas ppp pc 120308 straight In a statement today, he said it was Bersih who should apologise and be held responsible for the death as well as injuries and sufferings caused by the illegal rally.

"Whatever happened, it happened due to the stubbornness of Bersih. There was no benefit to anyone on what Bersih did, except to bring a bad name to this country we love.

"Bersih being an illegal body should bear full responsibility. In fact, Bersih had clearly stated that they would be fully responsible for any incident," he said.

He said, Bersih or the Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections, supported by the opposition parties insisted on taking innocent people to the streets by instigating them against the government's advice.

"Where are they now, can they now take full responsibilities for this?" he said.
