The Kuala Lumpur High Court will hear on Aug 15 the application by a nephew of the Sultan of Selangor, Putera Azamuddin Shah Abdul Shah for a committal proceeding against his mother for contempt of court.

Judge Amelia Tee Hong Geok Abdullah fixed the date in chambers today after meeting lawyers Rajan Navaratnam, representing Putera Azamuddin Shah, and Jabeer Singh, representing Tengku Putri Arafiah ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz.

Rajan told reporters that the judge had asked both parties to file in their respective documents.

On June 8, Putera Azamuddin Shah filed an application for committal proceeding against his mother, claiming that she had failed to sign and comply with the sale and purchase agreement of shares in Sunshine Fleet Sdn Bhd, totalling RM2 million.

In the notice of motion, Putera Azamuddin Shah said that on April 19, the court had allowed his application for a specific performance order for his mother to sign and abide by the sale and purchase agreement on the shares.

He said Tengku Putri Arafiah was given five days to do so, but claimed that his mother failed to do so, which he said, was a contempt of court.

In the supporting affidavit, Putera Azamuddin Shah said his mother had agreed to buy all the 100,000 units of shares he owned in Sunshine Fleet Sdn Bhd.
