The report on the proposal to comprehensively review the national education system is expected to be completed by year-end, said Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.

Muhyiddin, who is also Education Minister, said the report would be presented to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak for approval before it is presented to the cabinet.

“After the cabinet scrutinises the report and gives its approval, it will be made public,” he said when opening the 18th National Management and Leadership Education Seminar in Genting Highlands today.

Muhyiddin, during his official visit to Surabaya recently, announced that the Education Ministry was planning a revamp of the national education system in efforts to improve its quality.

A special committee headed by Education director-general Abd Ghafar Mahmud has been tasked with coming up with the report.
