Yes Ibrahim, we're all green with envy
'But some of us are members of the public unwilling to see UiTM falling into disrepute by endorsing your award.'
Ibrahim Ali on UiTM award: I'm a victim of jealousy
David Dass: What is so 'classy' about setting up an award in one's own name? Most great men have humility as a prime attribute. Here Ibrahim Ali sets himself up as an icon for inspired leadership.
And what is the award for? A thinly veiled reference to the person who, like him, upholds the interest of one race above all others. This in a pubic university maintained by public funds. In a country with diverse races. Where the government of the day has initiated a 1Malaysia policy. Where the PM speaks of respect and acceptance of each other and not just tolerance.
This man who advises the Chinese to stock food and stay at home just before the Bersih demonstration. Always threatening, always raving and ranting about the entitlement of the majority race to do whatever it likes.
If he has the money, set up a Onn Jaafar Award. Or a Tunku Abdul Rahman Award. A Hussein Onn Award. A Tun Dr Ismail Abdul Rahman Award. Men who stood for righteousness, integrity and a steadfast commitment to multiracial Malaysia. True Malaysians all.
Karma: Ibrahim Ali calls the people stupid and screaming basket. Who wants to get his award named after him? Yuck!
There is no jealousy. The public outcry against his award is created by Ibrahim Ali himself. He is the one should be shameful and low class, not his critics.
I wonder whether he has enough Malays to vote for him in the next GE. He can only rely on the Malay vote, and it is thinning out every time he speaks or barks.
Moontime: Wow! What a TV show - an expletive-laden tirade coming from a seasoned politician whose ‘mascot' is the frog.
Allow me to correct you, Mr Ibrahim, not all of us are members of the opposition. Some of us are members of the public unwilling to see UiTM falling into disrepute by endorsing your award.
If it is an Arshad Ayub or Awang Had Salleh award, you won't find us uttering even a peep about it. However, coming from you, a confirmed bona fide racist motor mouth who is prone to emotional outburst, we need to speak up.
Please do enlighten us of your achievements and accomplishments that would put Arshad Ayub and Awang Had Salleh to shame.
How many bumiputera students have you educated and helped to escape poverty? Did you manage to surpass what Arshad Ayub did to mould bumiputera students so that they can become successful members of the society?
YF: If Ibrahim Ali is the best model for Malays today then we all need to pray that God help the Malays from their current degenerated state.
Jeremy Ng: Yes, lah . Everyone is jealous and envy of you. You are so lucky.
You are really fortunate to be chosen as the Umno spokesman to stir up Malay emotions. You will surely have a seat in the next GE. Well done. Despite all the racialist and nonsensical comments, you're surely the smartest among all the third-grade politicians.
Indeed, calling MCA "stupid and bloody fool" is your most sensible statement so far. You should also nominate yourself for a Tan Sri title. This will reflect Agong's appreciation for your fight for the Malay race.
KJ Lim: Jealous? Does Ibrahim Ali has a dozen of patented findings? Has he made an outstanding contribution in any field? Has he discovered dozen of novel genes or drugs which can heal HIV or cancers on this planet?
Instead, his body is full of racist and sexist genes. Threatening other races, he knows. He is nobody but a racist and sexist.
Shanu: I am really ecstatic that non-Malays cannot qualify to occupy "the hallowed halls of UiTM". Can you imagine the 'pride ' we would have had if by chance an award of this nature was thrown at a non-Malay? God forbid. It would have been disgusting and demeaning to say the least.
The students of UiTM are well-advised to aspire to get this award, which is after all being given by such "a well-meaning educated gentleman". That would be poetic justice. To be rewarded by the best with the best.
Anonymous: I, for one, will not employ any person who gets an Ibrahim Ali award. I am very sure my friends in other bumiputera companies will definitely agree with me.
Disbeliever: You are a victim of jealousy? In the first place, UiTM was not thinking right when it decided to accept your proposal to offer an award under your name.
We are not jealous that you consider yourself an activist, but what we are against are the arrogant, racist and seditious remarks that you spew.
It is ironic that despite that, you are still walking about freely whereas innocent heroes like Dr D Jeyakumar and others have been detained under the Emergency Ordinance on allegedly trumped-up charges.
Quigonbond: Ibrahim Ali, nobody wants to be in your position, least of all to be jealous about you.
Our resistance to your award is for the benefit of the under-graduates of UiTM, who will otherwise find themselves unemployable because of their racist indoctrination under your award.
Our concern is for Malaysia who should care less about someone's race or religion and more about their real economic condition and whether they have a chance of making something out of their lives through honest living.
Ksn: Ibrahim, which idiot and fool will be jealous of you? What do you have for the people to be jealous of you. Do you have any grey matter, any intellect, any wisdom, any discretion, any knowledge to be jealous about?
You are a laughing stock of the country, and all those insults people have thrown at you in the Malaysiakini forum and elsewhere are true. You still do not get it that you are nothing but just a human in form only?
Is there something else to be said about this guy, folks? I give up.
Multi Racial: Ibrahim Ali promised 15,000 to march with him but fewer than 20 turn up. Anyone should know by now, he does not have anything to back him up.
There is a saying is Cantonese - "Leh ku yau ching are tai sai". In English it means, "You think having money means you can do anything?"
Keep your money. It is best you are a forgotten man.
Not Confused: Why, oh why do you give this big-mouthed clown more column inches. His point of view is of no interest to the rank-and-file rakyat.
His rhetoric is divisive, racist and not worthy of any more space in this portal. Granted, you need to be even handed and not silence any opposing views, but enough is enough already.
-----: Ah, he is back. I was for a while lacking some comedy time in Malaysiakini . At least now there is some comic relief to read.
