Shuhardi Md Isa, alleged to have impersonated Baharudin Ahmad who died of a heart attack during the July 9 rally in the city, has denied he was in hiding.

Shuhardi Md Isa At a press conference here today, the Association of Islamic Consultants and Directors Malaysia (Uruskop) secretary-general said he had not received formal notification to present himself at a police station to facilitate investigations.

He said he had to explain the confusion regarding Baharudin's death as it had tarnished his image as someone who was hired to impersonate.

Shuhardi Md Isa "I thought the matter was settled and I do not have to clarify because the bloggers who manipulated my pictures, saying it was Baharudin, have apologised to me.

"Yesterday, however, when I saw deputy inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar's comment that I might have gone into hiding, I had to speak up," he said, adding he was prepared to cooperate with the police on the matter.
