Penang Umno chief Zainal Abidin Osman today ticked off Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng for saying that he (Zainal Abidin) was coveting the chief minister's post if the BN were to win the state in the next general election.

He told this to reporters after visiting the Ramadan Bazaar in Kepala Batas yesterday.

He was commenting on a report in the Chinese newspapers which quoted Lim as saying that Zainal (left) would be made chief minister if BN won in the state.

Zainal said that he was not coveting the post and and that there was an agreement between BN component parties on who would get the post should BN return to power in the state.

He said under the agreement, the candidate for the post would not come from Umno.
