vox populi small thumbnail 'Their evidence is crucial to the truth of the allegations; the accused's state of mind; and the defence of political/criminal conspiracy.'

Najib, Rosmah will testify only if subpoenaed

Gerard Samuel Vijayan: If they are not material witnesses to the charge, why did the police record statements from them? Same replay of Sodomy I.  The defence will be forced to issue the subpoenas and then the witnesses will apply to have them set aside on the grounds that their evidence is not material or relevant to the charge - and the judge, true to script, will allow this.

Since PM Najib Razak and Rosmah Mansor met the complainant after the alleged incident, their evidence is crucial to determine the truth of the allegations; the state of mind of the accused; and the defence of political/criminal conspiracy.

Another black day for justice.

Artchan:

I thought they wanted to nail Anwar. But they don't want to be interviewed?

It's just a formality for Anwar to defend his case. It's understood he will go to jail. The decision is with the prime minister, chief justice and attorney general who are with the government.

The judge must pass a guilty verdict as in Sodomy I. Anwar will have to go to jail before Najib calls for GE13.

I believe opposition leaders will have to be detained under the Internal Security Act (ISA) for their involvement in Bersih 2.0. This is to stop them from campaigning.

Najib has to win convincingly to stay as Umno president. He is in control over the CJ, AG, and EC to make sure it goes according to his plan.

Louis: Najib was so inconsistent in his statements. One moment he claimed the complainant Saiful Bukhari Azlan did not go to his office. Next, he said that Saiful went to get help for a scholarship. So if the PM is placed under intense questioning from legal eagles like Gobind Singh Deo and N Sankara, he will buckle.

1Malaysia: Who is willing to subpoena them?

MP blasts 'unholy conspiracy' over PR voters

Kenneth_3486: This kind of illegal activity have been going on for years in Sabah.

Dhammika: If there is still cheating even today, then Bersih might want to consider Bersih 3.0 after Hari Raya to be held throughout the country.

Kgen: All Malaysians, whether they support BN or Pakatan Rakyat, should vote against BN to stop the country from being sold to foreigners. These ‘instant citizens’ will bring a lot of social problems make life harder for real Malaysians.

Malays will suffer most because of the instant bumiputras. So think: Do you want to pull down your livelihood just to support a corrupt party?

Hello: If the authorities, that is, the Election Commission (EC), National Registration Department (NRD) and the police do not investigate and explain these fraudulent cases, the people must show their rage in another peaceful protest again. The government and the authorities cannot simply ignore the people and treat them like dirt.

PAS: 1,100 PR-holders in S'gor electoral roll

Malaysian_f06: We need a royal commission of inquiry (RCI) to be set up immediately to investigate claims. We need to identify when these people applied for their permanent residence, when they got the PR, when they applied for their citizenship, when they got their citizenship, when they applied for their voting registration and when they became registered voters.

The paper trail will be significant. We would need to analyse the statistics in the timing of each application and duration of application process to ascertain if there is any foul play. Let the data exonerate or implicate whoever is responsible for this.

YellowBoxer: If the PM calls for a general election soon, the Pakatan parties should apply for a court injunction to stop it, unless and until the roll has been cleaned. Oops, I forgot. Who controls the courts? The BN. It is a useless situation.

Mirror on the Wall: The biometric system will be able to tell also be able who voted for which party. So, going round trying to convince these new voters to vote opposition may be an exercise in futility. They may have already been threatened with a revocation of their citizenship!

Good men: These are desperate times for Umno, so Umno requires desperate measures. It worked for them in Sabah, why not the rest of the country?

PR voters: Pakatan MPs want emergency sitting

Malaysiawatch4.blogspot: The Speaker, who is a BN stooge, will reject the motion as the "technical error" has been corrected and the matter is not urgent nor in the public interest as the GE has not been called. Meanwhile the EC will try to cover up the mess.

Haven't we seen this type of computer data being manipulated with before? Like Altantuya Shaariibuu's immigration details? Both the registration department and the EC should be subject to a public inquiry on how secure the data is.

FairMind: So it is the NRD that has committed high treason by admitting more Indonesians into Malaysia to compete and share the limited resources. The real perpetrators of high treason are the NRD, public service heads and UMNO - not the EO6!

Anonymous_3e86: This is just the tip of the iceberg. Many more thousands have already become citizens. Go to the Indonesian squatter areas or settlements and you will find that many of them have blue ICs.

BN is so confident of retaking Selangor. Why? They have their "army of Indonesians" awaiting voter registration - thousands of them.

Perhaps the "amnesty programme" is a guise to register illegals as citizens, and then as voters, too. It's an uphill task to kick out BN but we must educate others of BN's corrupt ways. BN has lost the votes from the new young voters. Their only hope comes from these PRs and illegal immigrants.
