PAS spiritual leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat today refuted allegations of discussions between him and Gua Musang MP Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah over the possibility of the latter taking over as the opposition leader from Anwar Ibrahim should Anwar be found guilty of sodomy.

Describing the allegation as a slander, Nik Aziz, who is the Kelantan menteri besar, said there was nothing to hide from the public because the meeting did not take place.

"Where did the talk (of a meeting with Tengku Razaleigh) come from?

"Why should I keep any such meeting a secret? All my life, I have never had secrets, and all of you know that.

"There was no meeting. It is nonsense," he told reporters in Kota Bharu.

Bayan Baru MP Zahrain Mohamed Hashim had said that Nik Aziz and Tengku Razaleigh had held talks on an alleged offer for the Gua Musang MP to take over from Anwar as the opposition leader.
