your say 'Ezam, just because you got Umno behind you, doesn't mean you can go around burning all those who differ from your view.'

Senator Ezam threatens to 'burn down' news portals

David Dass: It's outrageous for a senator to use such incendiary language. The 'rubbish' he refers to is the discussion about the Jais raid on a charity dinner in a church compound. That raid has been criticised severely in the alternative media.

Some church leaders have said that if there was proof of proselytism of Muslims, produce it. There are concerns that rumour, suspicion and speculation now form the basis for such high-handed action.

It is not the sensitivity of Islam that is the issue here. It is the sensitivity of interference with the way other religions function. It is encroachment on the rights of others.

Some of the comments made have been quite bizarre - ‘Muslims cannot accept aid from non-Muslim religions. The giving of aid to Muslims by non-Muslims is proselytism.'

We cannot allow Jais or other Muslim organisations to intrude into churches or church compounds without just cause and without proper authority. Senator Ezam Mohd Nor - Islam is not under threat and threatening to burn the news portals is an offence.

Elias: A senator dares to talk like a thug, threatening to burn down buildings - is there any wonder why the criminals in Malaysia are getting more and more ruthless these days?

I hope all the foreign diplomats will take note of these Umno men and bar them from entering their countries because they are potential terrorists.

Anonymous_4056: Ezam, just because you got Umno behind you, doesn't mean you can go around burning all those who differ from your view.

You don't have to outdo Perkasa's Ibrahim Ali. Remember, not all Malays are with you.

Proarte: Muslims must do some quiet soul-searching and ask themselves whether using a mosque to spew hatred and threats of violence is Islamic. People like Ezam who want to 'burn down' Malaysiakini are behaving no better than the hooligans in UK who caused so much damage to UK's reputation as a civilised county.

A basic tenet of Islam is justice for all. They have not provided any credible evidence or allowed the people whom they accuse to defend themselves in an open court. Isn't this against Islam?

Rayfire: Now who is disrespecting Islam? In the holy month of Ramadan, these so-called leaders who claim to protect the religion are going against the very teaching of observing the month with peaceful and remorseful thoughts and go on rampage to dish out threats.

My question for these leaders - who is bringing a bad name to Islam and its followers?

Karma: Wow, I did not know that Muslims in Malaysia can threaten to burn down buildings, call people ‘barua' in the name of Islam. It is scary. I read Malaysiakini everyday and I did not see anything damaging about Jais. They report both sides, and carried news from Bernama too.

Religion is about tolerance but these people, claiming to be Muslims, are calling for a fight. Christians, Hindus and the Buddhists have remained calm despite that churches were burnt and temples demolished. I hope that our Muslims brothers and sisters can do the same.

KSD: If this is not sedition, then tell me what sedition really is. Ezam first threatened violence on the Penang Bridge and now here. The home minister has to answer why no action is taken.

Khairuddin Mohd Yusof: Ezam should not behave like a gangster. If you threaten people like a gangster, be prepared to be threatened by them. Those who live by the sword would die by the sword. Malaysia should not be a place for gangsterism.

Free Thinker: I am not a Muslim but I have a lot of Muslim friends and they don't behave like Ezam. I have very high respect for them and they treat me and my friends well. This Ezam is a disgrace to Islam.

Malaysians Are Not Stupid: Exam, please stop acting ‘biadap'. Your behaviour and manners is like a ‘samseng', who cannot sit down and discussed things in a civilised manner.

Also, do you know what actually transpired in the Jais raid? I do not and thus I'm in no position to comment about the matter. Let the responsible parties comes up with a report from their investigations. Then and only then, we take whatever action required (if any) according to the laws of the land.

By the way, where are the police? Whenever BN-friendly illegal demonstrations are held, the police are often not around.

Baiyuensheng: "Burn down" means somebody might get hurt. Would the police question and investigate the threats?

JBGUY: The PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police) has once again shown itself to be partial towards Umno members. These people can do no wrong even if they break the country's laws.

People like senator Ezam behave like thugs and yet no action is forthcoming. What do the IGP and the deputy IGP got to say about this?

If you allow people like this to make rabid threats, wouldn't we end up with riots like in UK?

Confused: I am really confused here. A church has been forcefully raided and Jais, until today, is unable to provide proof to support what they claim happened in the church.

Yet these people are alleging that some parties have been disrespectful against Islam? What is happening to this country? Is this some kind of reverse psychology?

BornInM'sia: Now I know why Umno is doomed. It has embraced the mob culture.

Kit P: If you want to find the local version of the London rioters wannabe, look no further than Ezam's Umno.

Jiminy Qrikert: To all our Muslim brethren, you can judge for yourselves who are the people who threaten violence as a way of political life, as an expression of 'protecting their rights' and as a convenient 'instant-noodle' way to stoking anger, hatred and ill-will.

From the cow-head incident to the burning of churches, from insulting our ancestors to threats of a repeat of May 13 and from destroying temples, raiding our churches, constant and prolonged Christian-bashing to now, an open threat to harm the media that carry the truth of the Jais raid on DUMC.

It has always been Umno, Umno-sponsored proxies, Umno-bred Malay supremacists, BTN (Biro Tatanegara) junkies in the civil service and a collection of this small band of 200 travelling racist bigots who are paid Umno rabble-rousers.

Inspektor Klueso: Strictly diversionary tactics away from the real issues - corruption, poll manipulation, instant citizenry, gross mismanagement of economy, police and judicial thuggery, and Malaysians paying three times for contracts to enrich Umnoputras.

Anonymous_3e46: Ezam is very angry during this noble month when one is required to exercise patience, tolerance and politeness. I do not think he is suitable to speak on behalf of the others in every sense of the word.

He does not represent them at all, either through the colour of his skin or belief.

NuckinFuts: Burn down an online news portal? Here's how Ezam should do it:

Step 1 - Log in to Malaysiakini.com.

Step 2 - Set fire to his mouse.

Step 3 - Set fire to his keyboard, monitor and CPU.
