The Selangor government has set up an auditing team to evaluate infrastructure projects of local authorities to ensure efficient financial management.

Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said the team comprised a group of professionals such as a quantity surveyor, engineer and technician from the Public Works Department (PWD) to ensure each project was well managed.

He said that at the studying stage, three local authorities namely the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ), Kajang Municipality Council and the Kuala Selangor Municipality Council had been chosen to implement the programme.

"The team will be carrying out continuous auditing and the report of the audit team will determine if the project is to go on or not," he told reporters after attending a monthly Selangor state government assembly organised by the Sepang Municipality Council in Shah Alam today.

Abdul Khalid said he would table a report on the results of the evaluation made by JKR for the benefit of state civil servants soon.

On another development, Abdul Khalid said the state government would not take any actions against the Damansara Utama Methodist Damansara (DUMC) at the moment even though it was alleged to have infringed PJCC conditions.

He said a study including a full report from the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) following its inspection on the church on Aug 3 was being compiled.

"We will carefully pore over the study on the church," he said, adding that the report will be presented to the Sultan Of Selangor.
