Imperative for Jais to reveal DUMC probe

vox populi small thumbnail 'Jais should not delay revealing their findings, for an allegation committed without proof is a slander (read ‘fitnah').'

Jais, PAS meeting deferred on sultan's advice

Artchan: The Selangor sultan advised Jais (Selangor Islamic Affairs Department) not to meet with PAS, but Jais is going around with impunity casting aspersions.

Shouldn't they have held their guns before going public? Until today we have heard allegations. Where is the evidence?

Carboncopy: They want to "ensure that information from the investigation is not leaked to anyone". Oh really? What about the Jais press statement? What about the news of the submission of a "preliminary report" leaked to Utusan Malaysia ?

Henry Hock Guan : To say "leak" means there is something to hide. Why is there no transparency? Just tell the truth. And how can Jais now say there was no raid when the Jais director said a week ago they had to raid based on information given by a complainant?

DannyLoHH : Jais should not delay revealing their findings, for an allegation committed without proof is a slander (read ‘fitnah'). As it stands, Jais is slandering Damansara Utama Methodist Church (DUMC) and Harapan Komuniti as long as they do not provide any proof.

Anonymous: This is a simple 'open and shut' case so why the need to wait till after Hari Raya to complete a report? Just convene a meeting with the two parties and let both have their say. Then show their evidence, if any. If not, apologise and move on.

If there was no evidence, there is no need to ‘korek' and ‘korek' till you get something. Just a simple informal meeting in a non-threatening atmosphere will get to the root of everything. There is also no need to get the sultan involved, why waste his time?

Joe Lee : Are we a democracy? The people of Selangor voted for the Pakatan Rakyat government. The Pakatan government should be calling the shots here; not Jais nor the sultan, even if the government has to pay due respect to him.

The Selangor government should get the best legal advice from the best lawyers (and that's not the state legal department), and act on it.

Umno types, and even the royal types need to get used to people power. The people are the boss - MB Khalid Ibrahim would do well to remember this.

FairPlay: Look at the issue in a rational way. The fact that it took Jais so long to complete the report as the case was, and is still, under investigation would suggest the so-called 'evidence' might not be that convincing to justify Jais' action.

The sultan's advice might be a way out for Jais until cool heads on both sides of the divide prevail.

Taking action against those Muslims who attended the dinner without concrete evidence of proselytising could infringe on their rights of choice and freedom of association among Malaysians. So, whither 1Malaysia?

Anonymous_3e8f: Why can't there be full transparency in the investigations? I suspect Jais will cook up some cock-and-bull story.

This country going to the dogs due to the overzealous actions of some Muslims. Barging hotel door or homes where couples are really married, in some cases with children - this is pure hypocrisy.

Anonymous_3fc4: Jais' job is to help Perkasa and Umno to stir up shit for the opposition and the Christian community, and now they have also dragged in the sultan.

Free Thinker: The extension of time is needed for Jais to prepare the script and the so-called ‘evidence' to be submitted to the people. At the moment, they don't have anything to produce. We are already used to this.

Umno mentality seen in 'Bersih RM50 bribe' claim

Neders: The urbanites know better, but this sinister spin is for the consumption of the rural folks particularly the Malays.

Mind you, their votes are as valid as yours and mine and Information Minister Rais Yatim has no qualms about lying barefacedly to secure votes for Umno/BN. God save this country.

2cts worth: Bribery has become a tradition in Umno and they need others to practice it to justify their evil ways. These are shameless crooks desperate to stay in power in order to continue to suck the economy of Malaysia dry.

Senator fears S'gor may become 'another Sabah'

Rajm: Mariam Mokhtar said in her Malaysiakini column that Malaysia will become the 34th province of Indonesia . She is right in her assumptions.

To stay in power, they need the help of Indonesian Muslims, so the easy way out is give the Indonesians citizenship. A lot of illiterate Indians from the estates who have been living here for a century are not able to get citizenship even though they were born in Malaya/Malaysia, but Indonesians born in Indonesia are able to get citizenship within a short time.

Finally, Malaysian Muslims and Indonesian Muslims will end up fighting one another because the Indonesians are also bumiputeras and accorded the same rights as the Malays.

Bersih 2.5: Indonesia does not have to send the troops to capture Malaysia, just send the many construction, agriculture and domestic workers as silent armies.

What kind of mentality do Umnoputra leaders have? For the sake of continuing their corrupt practices, they betray their own people to award citizenship to these people with little education background and skills.

Gunner: Remember what PM Najib Razak said - BN will do anything at all cost to defend Putrajaya.

True enough, these instant granting of citizenships in Selangor are now happening as they were proven effective in Sabah.
