Jamil Khir: Dakwah should not hurt people's feelings
'Dakwah' (preaching of Islam) needs to be carried out with wisdom and not in a way that hurts people's feelings, said Minister in Prime Minister's Department Jamil Khir Baharom.
'Dakwah' (preaching of Islam) needs to be carried out with wisdom and not in a way that hurts people's feelings, said Minister in Prime Minister's Department Jamil Khir Baharom.
"Actually 'dakwah' should be more than that. It is an invitation that is related to the heart and when the heart is hurt, how can knowledge be received," he said after an Aidilfitri programme with orphans in Sungai Petani today.
He was commenting on an incident where a former actor was alleged to have insulted the king, several sultans and the government during a talk at the An-Nur Mosque, Kampung Melayu Subang.
Jamil said the incident should not have happened as the mosque was a place of worship and it was not appropriate to bring politics in to insult people, especially during the Ramadan month.
On recent claims of attempts to convert Muslims, including children at tuition classes, Jamil said the public was encouraged to inform the State Islamic Religious Council of any such activities.
